Video games are supposed to be fun - it is inherent in their definition. However, sometimes gamers get tired of the easy wins and want something that will really challenge them. Humanity likes a good challenge, something that will keep us on our toes and give us that wonderful sense of accomplishment after finally getting through it. Well these five are some of the most difficult boss fights of all time. They will give you that challenge for sure, but it may be more than you can handle.

1. Final Fantasy III DS

The final bosses for the DS version of FInal Fantasy III DS are much more difficult than the original version of the game because the developers thought gamers would appreciate a little extra for the remake. Not only are the four required bosses difficult, but they also are positioned in different parts of a dungeon where there is no way to go back and heal after each fight and random enemies are constantly annoying you. This makes for an extremely frustrating and difficult series of final boss fights.

2. Halo 2

Defeating the Brute Chief with the hammer at the end of Halo 2 is difficult enough on regular mode, but when you are playing on legendary he is definitely one of the most difficult bosses of all time. Unless you are an extremely skilled Halo player, you will be no match. Luckily, this boss fight is optional so those of us who don't want to spend hours trying to defeat him can have the option not to.

3. Metal Gear Solid 3

The final boss for Metal Gear Solid 3 can be a real challenge if you aren't using any cheats or don't have a killer strategy. There are some great secret ways to take her down easily, but for most of us it will be a long and grueling process of ducking and dodging and trying to damage her without taking damage yourself.
