5 must-do's at a bridal show

So, you've got engaged. You've looked through the bridal magazines. You've even started scoping out places for your big day. What's the next logical thing to do? Go to a bridal Show. You'll find bridal show advertisements everywhere. Before getting engaged, i didn't even know they had bridal shows, suddenly my weekends were full with bridal shows invitations and everywhere I looked another place was having one. To help you make the best out of your bridal show experience, here are 5 must do things at every bridal show.

Show Up Early

If a bridal show says they are going to start at 10am, don't think you're going to get there leisurely around noon. If you do this you'll loose out on opportunities, experiences, food, and everything else at a bridal show. Get to a show about 30-45 minutes before the time it says. You might end up spending some time in line, but that will give you more opportunity to read, talk, or hang out with your maid of honor or mom you brought with you. Most of these bridal show venues have been doing this for years, and they know the way to draw the brides in: offer free stuff. This free stuff can range from a t-shirt to a gift bag of goodies that would make the Grammy's weep. There are also some shows that will offer prizes and give aways fromt he vendors for the first comers.

Know What You're Looking For

By the time you've started going to bridal shows you should have some idea what you're looking for. You should relatively know what your dream wedding is and kind of what your budget is. Even if you don't know anything, don't worry. Just have some idea of what you want to see in the show. The advertising often tells you what kind of vendors will be there. Most importantly, just jot down your ideas and be ready to be wowed by the vendors.

Enter Everything

There's going to be a lot of vendors and most of them will be raffling away a great prize. From a honeymoon vacation in the Grand Caymans to a full catering package, there are a lot of drawings to enter and somebody will win. It might as well be you. Even if you aren't interested in winning the prize, it could come in handy at some time. Not only that, many of the prizes could be re-gifted as a bridesmaid gift or be used as a gift for someone else. In addition to that, when you register for these raffles you will get tons of info on everything that the vendor offers. Often times, a vendor might offer a service that they don't display at a show, but it's part of their business. Entering these raffles is always a good idea.

Bring Address Labels

When you are entering the give aways, or asking for more information, they're going to ask you for all of your pertinent information. This get monotonous, and takes up a lot of time at the show. It would be horrible missing the wedding gown fashion show because you were writing down your address for the 100th time. Instead, carry address labels with you. Most of us got address labels with our checks or were given them by some charity organization. This is the best time to pull those sticky rectangles with your information pasted all over it. Instead of getting a hand cramp, all you have to do is peel and stick.

Talk to the People

There are thousands of things going on, tons of people swirling around you, and the smell of food is in the air. There are people walking around with things you want, from vendors you want to visit, and they have give aways that you just must have. With all this going on at once, it's hard to focus on what you really need to do. Remember, this is your first meeting with a vendor who might be managing a certain part of the greatest day of your life. This is the first interview of these vendors and you have to make sure you ask them all the questions that are concerning you with that particular vendor. Then take a card and write down what you thought about that vendor on their card. When you go home and pull all of the stuff out of the bag, you'll see your notes and be reminded of the things you liked about that vendor. If you've never heard of them before, or you didn't know that that sort of thing could be at a wedding - ASK!
