5 Must See Green Television Shows

Thanks to cable and satellite television, you have more choices than ever for watching shows that cater to their own personal interests. It used to be rare to catch a television show that highlights the environment and green living in an entertaining way. Luckily, there are now several networks who regularly feature green television shows that entertain, inform and inspire. A few of the must see green television shows to watch this season are outlined below.

Garbage Moguls - National Geographic Channel

The green television show, Garbage Moguls showcases a creative crew from TerraCycle. The show gives viewers an inside look at their creative process and challenges faced when turning garbage into functional products. The series shows how products found in the trash can become notebooks, pencils and kites. Several episodes are also available for viewing on line on the National Geographic Channel website.

The Fabulous Beekman Boys - Planet Green

An entertaining reality show that features Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge who escape New York City to their farm in upstate New York City. The show chronicles the challenges faced as they try to make their organic farm thrive while trying to live a more simple life.

Reel Impact - Planet Green

This green television series is not always environmentally focused but showcases several documentaries designed to promote thought, lighten your environmental impact and make a difference. One of the documentaries slated for the series of the documentaries this year is No Impact Man: The Documentary. The film chronicles the struggles and choices of a New York family as they try to live with zero impact for one year. Another documentary schedule as part of the Reel Impact series is Who Killed the Electric Car.

Living with Ed - Planet Green

Rachelle and Ed Begley Jr. don't always agree on what it takes to live a green lifestyle. This green television show always provides some good green living tips with a little bit of drama between Ed and Rachelle. The Green - Sundance Channel

The Green series airs each Tuesday (9 pm ET/PT) on the Sundance Channel. The series features shows such as Big Ideas for a Small Planet, The Lazy Environmentalist and other informative and inspirational programs that focus on the environment.
