Keep it Real: While there are tons of people that lie online when trying to find a mate, don't be one of them! Always tell the truth about everything! This doesn't mean you have to tell your whole life story; however, if you're serious about meeting someone that's not into playing games, you can't play any games either! Keep it real by holding a honest conversation. If you're choosing just to play around with online dating, say whatever you want, however if you wish to meet someone in person, stick to telling the truth, it will make everything run a lot smoother.
Never Tell Your Exact Location: When you're looking for someone to date online, you should never tell your exact location. While online dating can be full of fun, there are also many horror stories. Never, Never tell anyone your exact location of where you're at. Sure you may tell them the city and state you live in, however, never name an exact location to where you are at that point in time, this can be extremely dangerous if you don't really know the person you're talking to on the other end of the computer.
See a Picture before Meeting: Many people tell so many lies online, that it's hard to even believe anything anyone says without proof. Sure someone may give you a great description of what they look like, however; make sure you see a picture of the person before meeting them. Some people believe that looks aren't everything, however; you should always want to see the person you're talking to before you meet them in person. Even if you talk to the person on the phone, you should still request a picture. Sometimes people can sound one way and then look a completely different way, there are plenty horror stories of this!
Meet in Public Place: When meeting your online date, always meet in a public place for the first time. Since you don't know this person, you'll want to take the proper precautions to protect yourself at all times. Places such as malls, parks and other social gatherings make great places to hook up with your online date. This tip doesn't just go for women, it goes for men too!
Have Your Own Ride: When preparing to meet your online date, bring your own ride! This means bring your own car or get dropped off by someone you know. In no way should you depend or plan to ride with your online date unless you completely trust them. This is another safety precaution; there are crazy people out there! If you are willing to take a risk, have your online date pick you up, otherwise be prepared with your own transportation.
