5 Must-Visit Websites for Horror Buffs

Arrow in the Head - This site is spearheaded by John Fallon a.k.a. The Arrow. It operates as a branch of JoBlo.com. It began as a simple review site. Fallon's reviews are brutally honest, insightful, and boisterously comedic. You have to have a taste for raunchy humor to dig on Fallon's writing style. If it doesn't contain at least 2.5 references to hookers and/or masturbation, then it's not an Arrow review. The site has grown to feature news, a nifty Mistress of the Week spotlight, and a dedicated staff of journalists. I used to be a steadfast member of the message boards. Arrow in the Head is addictive all around.

Fangoria - Fangoria Magazine is America's premiere horror publication. I wouldn't say it's the best genre rag on the market, but Fangoria.com should be bookmarked by every gore guzzler with an Internet connection. As far as news goes, no one has better sources or stronger connections than Fangoria. These guys have their fingers on the pulse of the horror community. Well, it would stand to reason that the horror community doesn't have a pulse, but you get the idea. The site also features cool games, cool merchandise, and cool contests.

Dread Central - Formerly known as Creature Corner, Dread Central.com is another trustworthy news source for genre freaks. A column that I always look forward to is the weekly list of DVD's that are set to be released that Tuesday. It's not always a good idea to view the list, as one's wallet can only take so much abuse. DC also sports the odd magazine review, which is a novel idea. I find them to be very helpful when deciding how I should torch my earnings.

November Fire - This website offers a sheaf of BADASS horror apparel. There are dozens of original designs that are exclusive to November Fire. They seem to specialize in b-movies, a niche market that I drool over like a lumbering zombie. I particularly adore the designs for London After Midnight, Gorgo, and The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here! (yes, that's an actual movie title). The prices are surprisingly reasonable, and as soon as I...er, have money, I'm going to go on a killing/shopping spree.

Rotten Cotton - This was the first place on the web to sell genre clothing. It's still going strong, and it's still as offensive as ever. Some of the material on Rotten Cotton is, shall we say, morally questionable, but the selection is unreal. Here again, the designs are exclusive. I've shopped at RC a few times myself, and I was certainly a happy customer. Highlights include Tombs of the Blind Dead, The Story of Ricky, and the unique array of blaxploitation shirts. If you're into morbid memorabilia, pick up some rotten cotton today!
