5 NFL Teams with No Super Bowl Appearances

Lee Andrew Henderson
At the beginning of every NFL season everybody says that NFL fans are excited because every team has a chance of being good. There is so much parity in the NFL that a team that was bad one season could be good the next season. While that might be the case, there are some franchises in the NFL that haven't been able to make it to the Super Bowl, yet.

5 NFL Teams with No Super Bowl Appearances: Cleveland Browns
Despite having a very passionate fan base the Cleveland Browns have been one of the door mats of the NFL for some time now. The last time the Cleveland Browns made the playoffs was in 2002 when they lost in the first round. The Browns have gone as far as the AFC Conference Championship but they haven't been able to get over that last hurdle and into the Super Bowl.

5 NFL Teams with No Super Bowl Appearances: Detroit Lions
Nobody should be surprised that the same franchise that became the first team to go 0 - 16 also has never been to a Super Bowl. The Detroit Lions have not made the playoffs since 1999. The closest the Detroit Lions came to making the Super Bowl was in 1991 when they lost in the Conference Championship to Washington.

5 NFL Teams with No Super Bowl Appearances: Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars had an unbelievable start to their franchise history. After going 4 - 12 in their first season the Jaguars then went 45 - 19 over the next four years. The Jaguars made the AFC Championship game on two occasions but couldn't prevail either time.

5 NFL Teams with No Super Bowl Appearances: New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints have one of the worst playoff histories in pro sports. The New Orleans Saints started playing in 1967 and didn't make their first playoff appearance until 1987. But it wasn't until 2000 that the New Orleans Saints won a playoff game for the first time. In 2006 the Saints went to the NFC Championship game but lost to the Bears.

5 NFL Teams with No Super Bowl Appearances: Houston Texans
The Texans have a little bit of an excuse for not making the Super Bowl since they are the newest team in the NFL. But with all the parity in the NFL the Texans should have at least made the playoffs by now.

If at first you don't succeed, give up.
