1. Hawaii. Lush scenery, incredible white beaches, and the aloha spirit make up one of the greatest tourist destinations on the planet. When traveling to Hawaii you must experience Waikiki beaches, Hanauma Bay snorkeling, The Polynesian Cultural Center, The Arizona Memorial, and the Aloha Swap Meet. There are more things to do in this state while you are on vacation than practically anywhere. It will rejuvenate your body. The people are gracious and polite displaying what the locals call "the Aloha Spirit". Year round almost perfect weather make this vacation spot #1.
2. South Lake Tahoe, CA. They call Tahoe "The sunniest place on earth" as its average number of days per year with a sunny forecast is 320 days. During the spring there are hiking tours up the ski mountains that remind of the Swiss alps. This quaint mountain town has a collection of interesting and worthy shops and restaurants. During the Summer there is camping and hiking in Desolation Wilderness, fishing in the deepest lake in America, four wheeling the Rubicon Trail, swimming, Sailing Trials on the lake at night, live bands galore. During the Fall there are festivals for music and theatre that will make your moments magical. During the winter there is Skiing the majestic mountain ranges, snow mobiling the back country, and building snow men with the kids. It is one of the closest examples of Heaven on earth that I have found.
3. Miami, FL. White sand beaches, Culture, art, music, food, warm turquoise crystal clear water. At some point in your life it is a necessity to find Miami. Everyone should be exposed to this eclectic mix of people, ideas, and history. From beaches and picnic areas, charter ocean fishing, casinos, night clubs, the best restaurants, art shows, music festivals, and fashion. This is one of the most energetic yet relaxing places on the earth. The Florida Keys are just a hop skip and jump down the road where you can hang out in the same area as Hemingway spent a portion of his life. One of the premiere snorkeling and diving areas of the world there are dozens and dozens of cool spots to dive and see the tropical experience. It is a diverse and ever-growing area that seems to always hold your interest. My pick for a great place to spend some of your time.
4. San Francisco, CA. Dramatically different from anywhere else around, San Francisco is interesting from the way its streets were built to the architecture of its buildings to its strange and crazy transportation systems. San Francisco has so much to offer including great restaurants, live music, great clubs, the piers, the trolley cars, Alcatraz, and live entertainment on the streets. Culture is booming in the streets of San Francisco as people from all over the world seem to be everywhere around you. There are people doing shows, magic, guitar, harmonica, "the robot" right on the streets trying to impress you for money. All over the city there are street vendors selling their wares - everything from glass etchings to jewelry to clothing. There are different districts such as China Town and Mission where you will see completely different kinds of lifestyles. Take the trolley and it will be a ride up and down the crazy streets of San Francisco. For a once in a lifetime experience San Francisco ranks right up there with the best.
5. Texas. I have to say not many people would think about Texas as a place to visit in their lifetime. There are so many amazing things about Texas. Let's start with the best hospitality on the earth! I have never met a group of people so friendly and willing to serve the public. Everywhere you go in Texas you will find hospitality. Some of the best food and restaurants you will find. Austin which is known for being the music capitol of the world - live bands, great clubs, awesome festivals. Remember the Alamo!!! Boating, water skiing, horse back riding, camping, ranching, four wheeling, sunny days at the beach in Corpus Christi, Fishing, and some of the best steak houses ever created. A great place to visit and wonderful group of people to meet. Texas is on my all time 5 places you must visit during your lifetime.

Post a CommentI've been to Texas, San Francisco and I've driven through Lake Tahoe during the night, but I'd love to visit Lake Tahoe properly. Hawaii sounds good too. I like your list!
