5 Places to Purchase Gift Certificates for Pet Products

Great Gifts for Pet Lovers

Donna Thacker
Do you have a friend or relative that celebrates their pet's birthday? Perhaps you have a friend to buy a gift for and do not have a clue what to get. Pet lovers enjoy getting things for their pets. If you are not sure what to get, a gift certificate for pet products is the answer. They can be purchased at local places and on line. Here are 10 places to get you started thinking about it.

1. PetSmart: This is like a huge Wal Mart designed for pets! The recipient of your gift certificate can even bring their pet to the store with them to shop. This store offers Gift Cards that start at $25.00 and goes as high as $500.00. You can also go on line and get an e-Gift certificate, but these are only redeemable on line.

The e-Gift certificates start at $5.00 and go up to $1000.00, if you are feeling generous. You'll be charged $5.00 for ordering them online and they are sent directly to the recipients email address. This is very convenient for those living in other states!

2. PETCO: PETCO is another large chain store that might be in your area. If not, they too are available online and you can purchase gift cards that are sent out by US Postal Service. Gift cards can be purchased in the amounts of $10.00 to $200.00. PETCO offers online certificates that are emailed to the recipient too. These range from $5.00 to $100.00, but can only be redeemed at the online site.

3. Drs Foster & Smith: This online pet store not only has electronic gift certificates, they allow you to choose the design and enter any amount you want. The designs range from dogs, cats, birds, horses and ferrets to holiday designs and a Thank You. These can be chosen with a special pet in mind, or a special occasion!

4. Local Veterinarian: Pet care can be expensive and sometimes neglected because of the expense. Give your pet loving friend a gift of health by purchasing a gift certificate from their personal vet. This certificate can be for a specific health check up, or it can simply be for a specific amount. Your friend or family member will be grateful to have this certificate if the pet suddenly becomes ill!

5. Local Groomer: Some pet owners prefer to do their own bathing and grooming while others do it because they cannot afford to take the pet to the groomer. Purchase a gift certificate from a local groomer that will cover the cost of a bath for the pet, or even a bath, cut and nail trim. The pet owner will be thrilled that their "baby" gets to spend a day of pampering at the groomers.

These gift cards are also very appreciated at local animal shelters and pet food pantries. You can simply have the electronic certificate sent to the shelter or pantry's email address. It is a great way to donate without having to leave your house!
