Jasmine Starr

If you have long URLs that you want to redirect with a shorter address, there are quite a few places online that offer those services for free. In this guide, I will show you five of the best places online to redirect your URLs. These sites are all free to use and do not require you to create an account. However, a couple of the sites will allow you to create an account to keep up with your stats and information. Signing up is completely up to you. So, let's take a look at the five places to redirect your URLs for free.

TinyURL

TinyURL offers this service for free. You simply enter the URL you want to redirect in the top field and click Make Tiny URL. You have the options of entering what you want the tiny URL to be. Below the top field, you will see the Custom Alias field. That's where you can enter what you want the URL to be. Or you can just click the button and it will make it for you. You can create as many URLs as you want with TinyURL.

SnipURL

SnipURL is about the same as TinyURL. When the page loads, you will see the Long URL box. Paste your URL in this box, then click the Snip It button. The page will reload and you will see your new URL in the top box on the page. You have the options of editing the URL, emailing it to yourself, sending it to someone else's email, and sending it to any social networking site. To see all of these options, hover your mouse over the Arrow button under your new URL. You will see your options in the menu and you can click the option of your choice.

Not Long

This site allows you to create a redirect URL that will look like this:

http://thenameyouchoose.notlong.com

So, whatever name you choose it will tack it to the front of the URL. So, it will be the name you chose . notlong.com . When the page loads, you will see the box where you can paste the long URL. Then the bottom field lets you enter what you want to appear in the url. Click the Save As button when you are ready to create your new URL. The next page will show you your new URL along with a password and a link. The password and link is used to login to the site and edit your URL and see your stats.

MetaMark

MetaMark is another great site to use to redirect your URLs for free. It is a very basic site. Simply paste your long URL in the Long URL field and click the Shorten button. A new URL will be provided for you. You also have the option of creating an account with this site. On the right of the Long URL box, you will see the username and password field. That's where you can create an account. Creating an account will allow you to edit URLs and view your stats.

TubeURL

TubeURL is the same as the above URL redirect sites. You use it the same way. Paste your long URL and create your new one. You have the option of using your own URL or letting TubeURL create one for you.
