5 Places to Watch Project Runway Online for Free

Are you a Project Runway junkie? Did you nearly die from anticipation waiting for Season 6 of Project Runway to FINALLY air on Lifetime? Did you miss Tim Gunn? Did you wonder who Heidi Klum was saying "Auf wiedersehen" to in her free time? Did you totally hate the poor substitute, The Fashion Show, on Bravo and spend the whole time while you were watching it wishing Isaac Mizrahi would just shut the hell up already? (Because, of course, you watched The Fashion Show, even as you hated it for not being Project Runway.) Do you ever wish you could watch Project Runway online for free? Now you can.

Here are five places where you can watch Project Runway online for free. I visited each site and tried to play the latest episode. Although none of the sites had the latest episode (Season Six, episode 6 of Project Runway) available to watch at 11:15 PM eastern time, most of the sites are up-to-date with Episode 5. By tomorrow morning, I bet at least one of the sites will have the latest episode of Project Runway online, at least, I hope so, since I missed it. (Boo!)

BlinkX

If you want to use BlinkX.com, you'll need to sign up for a free account. Given that the first two links I clicked on for videos gave me a "this is not a valid link" error message, I can't be bothered to sign up for the Dailymotion website, even if it is free. Maybe you'll try it and decide it's the best. If you do, let me know, because I'm giving it a miss.

TV Duck

TV Duck is a pain in my ass, so I highly recommend you stay far, far away. First of all, half the links I clicked told me that the episode was no longer available, then I noticed that 4 pop under ads had appeared since I'd loaded the pages. I got rid of those, finally got an episode to play, and when I clicked into full screen, it froze up my computer for a good 30 seconds. The video quality looked like it was decent, but screw anything that's going to mess up my computer and give me a bunch of ads. No thanks.

Surf The Channel

Surf The Channel's Project Runway page includes a brief description of the history of the television show and links to every single episode of every season. When you click on a link, you're taken to a page that, um, offers a spoiler of the episode, which is totally lame if you haven't watched it yet, and unless you read carefully when you're clicking, you'll keep being taken to a site that wants you to sign up for a 14-day free trial. Click on the link that says you'll be leaving the host site, and you'll get a website that's completely in Chinese, and the video has Chinese subtitles. As I was playing the first episode, the video kept cutting in and out, and was completely annoying. I don't recommend this site.

Lifetime

You gotta give Lifetime props for having the episodes of Project Runway available to watch online for free, but don't procrastinate, because the first episode is already gone from the site. The quality is better by a touch than SideReel, but Lifetime only has the 6^th season's newest episodes of Project Runway available to watch for free online.

SideReel

SideReel has all of the episodes of Project Runway online, from the first season to Project Runway season six. You don't need to sign up for an account or download anything. The picture quality isn't the best, but the shows load quite quickly and play very well, without any pauses, on my wireless connection. The connection starts with a 15 second advertisement, and you can't skip it. It's easy to pop out the video to create a full screen version on the show. Another nice thing about the site is that every episode is condensed with a short description, so if you want to watch a particular episode, you can easily find it. The judges for each episode are listed, too. I highly recommend this site. (P.S. If you love America's Next Top Model, you'll find free episodes on SideReel, as well as free online episode's of Britain's Next Top Model, New Zealand's, Scandinavia's, and Canada's and Australia's. ROCK!)
