5 Popular Myths About Men

Myths about men are generally created by women. They have the habit of labeling men on subjective criteria. For instance, if a man has left you for no reason, you're afraid that any other man might do the same. Well, these myths are about men of all ages, regardless of their education, ethnicity or religion and are strictly limited to the relationships between men and women:

1. Men like younger women

It is true that they believe that young woman are attractive, but that does not mean that a man would necessarily leave his wife for a younger lady. More than that, men get bored quickly to see the same nice face every day and they all are aware that an older woman is more mature and more prepared for a long term relationship.

2. Men are intimidated by smart women

Most women think that men would prefer to have a pretty girl next to them and not a smart one. Not really. Men like women with strong personalities, who have something to say. Let's not forget that men love to be challenged.

3. Men are intimidated by successful women

All these myths are quite funny. Do you really think that a man would prefer to date a receptionist or a marketing professional? Maybe he would date a woman who works as a receptionist if he really likes her. But he would surely prefer to go out with someone who is able to challenge him mentally. Most men like ambitious women with realistic goals and don't feel threatened by them.

4. Men are afraid of marriage

Yes, if they are 18 years old. Men are not afraid of marriage or engagement. Obviously, there are exceptional circumstances which don't allow them to think about getting involved in a long term relationship (a poor financial situation, a certain disease etc). There are also some psychological problems; for instance, a guy might think that he will lose his freedom once he gets involved in something serious. However, only those who are not able to talk with their mate face these issues.

5. Men only care about appearance

Both women and men care about appearance, at least at first, but this doesn't mean that everyone dreams only about having a physically perfect partner. Men, like women, want a partner who has a little of everything and not vice versa (much of one thing). They pay special attention to the mental ability of their mate and when this feature is missing- they won't hesitate to leave her, even if she is the most beautiful woman.
