The HTC Freestyle was once a highly anticipated AT&T smartphone, but due to lots of issues and missing features, it has left a bad taste in the mouths of both AT&T and HTC fans.

No Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is a basic feature for even the worst smartphones on the market and are used to keep from exceeding your phone provider's data cap, can often give faster speeds, and can even offer features that aren't available on mobile internet technology. Unfortunately, those that opt for the HTC Freestyle will be forced to do without this basic function as Wi-Fi is one of the missing features of this smartphone.

Low Quality Speakers

Like Wi-Fi, speaker quality is a feature that's often taken for granted '" but when the importance of these features comes to the forefront when they're done wrongly. The speaker quality of the HTC Freestyle is almost nonexistent which is painfully noticeable when playing games, listening to music, watching movies, using apps, and anything else that requires sound.

Messaging Issues

One of the most unexpected issues with the HTC Freestyle deals with the way in which it often handles and deals with messages. The inbuilt messaging feature of the Freestyle often sends duplicate messages, misses sent messages, and far too after marks read messages and unread. If you're a fan of texting and instant messaging, the HTC Freestyle may not be for you, and although not everyone has reported having these messaging issues, far too many have and it's a true problem of this smartphone.

Reported Crashes and Reboots

Soon after the HTC Freestyle was released, reports of crashes, frozen screens, and involuntary reboots started to flood the internet and online smartphone communities. Lots of HTC Freestyle enthusiasts hoped that the crashing, freezing, and reboots were an operating system issue that would be fixed in the near future, but after a few months of the Freestyle being on the market, the notorious crashes are still a big issue.

Lacking Apps

Contrary to popular belief, the HTC Freestyle isn't an Android phone and doesn't have Android Market support. The Freestyle runs on a generic operating system and doesn't support a wide array of apps like most other popular mobile operating systems. When it comes to smartphones, software is "king", and the lacking app support of the HTC Freestyle is very disappointing.
