Band leaders will need to have persistence. If it is a goal for band leaders to push their band into stardom or popularity they must be persistent. Leaders have to be persistent even when their band is slighted and when they face adversity. The band leader's persistence will motivate the other members.
Band leaders will need to posses a bit of creativity. Creativity is important in keeping the fans and supporters interested in the band. The band leader must be able to think of ways to keep the band on the scene. Not only does the band member think of these ideas but he must ensure that these ideas are executed.
Band leaders must obtain a great deal of patience. The leader will have to deal with the supporters, the music studio people, the promoters and the band members. They will have to keep a level head when placed under pressure. Band leaders with patience will positively reflect on their band thus creating a harmonious environment between band members.
Band leaders must be organized. The band leaders usually handle a large portion of the negotiations. If the band does not have an agent then the leader must book the shows, find out all of the information and sign the contracts. The leader must do all of this in addition to completing the tasks of their daily life.
Band leaders must have an open mind. Artists with an open mind tend to be better rounded and their music tends to be more appealing. Band leaders with open minds will be able to bring a fresh sense of order to their band enabling to keep up with the changing pace in music. Having an open mind will allow the leader and the band to connect with many different individuals which will allow them to gain access to a whole field of contacts.
Band leaders must be sociable. In many cases, the band leader is the voice of the band and so he will suffice as the gateway between the band and the outside world. The band leader will handle a great deal of the promotion. Everything the band leader says and does will reflect on the band. A leader that is more sociable will make more connections pushing the band closer to success.
