Fruity Greek Yogurt. If you've never had Greek Yogurt, you're in for a real treat. It bears very little resemblance to its runny, tart, American cousin. You can find Greek Yogurt at Trader Joes or make some of your own using cheesecloth and a large container of Dannon plain. Greek Yogurt has all the whey strained out of it, leaving it substantially lower in carbs. As a low-carb dessert, Greek Yogurt (also known as Yocheese) has a creamy consistency which, when chilled, is not unlike soft serve ice cream. But what to sweeten it with? Use any of your favorite sugar free syrups like Davinci's Strawberry or Lemon. For a true indulgence, stir in some vanilla syrup and a bit of peanut butter, and you'll know you've found a new favorite low-carb dessert.
Sugar Free Pudding. Several leading brands of pudding makers have come out with sugar free puddings that are pre-made and can usually be found in the dairy aisle. Beware of the Jello brand, however, in which the sugar has been replaced with high-glycemic index sugar alcohols like Maltitol and Sorbitol. Prefer instead, Kozy Shack's brand, which is quite tasty and has only sixty calories per servings to boot. It really hits the spot when you need a bed time snack.
Easy Strawberry Pie. Take a pie plate and fill it halfway full with sliced strawberries. On the stovetop, mix a package of berry flavored sugar free jello and a package of sugar free vanilla pudding with a cup of water and 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream. Boil, then pour over the strawberries and let it sit in the fridge until set. It'll slice like a pie and be a wonderfully refreshing low-carb dessert.
Panna Cotta. Some unflavored gelatin, your favorite sugarless syrup, and heavy whipping cream will give you a sinful low-carb dessert that you could serve to guests. Best of all, the most complicated part of the recipe is boiling the water. On the other hand, waiting for it to chill in the fridge can seem like an eternity, so you might want to try our next recipe if you just can't wait one more minute for a low-carb dessert.
Three Minute Chocolate Cake. There are a bunch of recipes out there that have tweaked the exact ingredients you'll need to make this, but the one thing that remains constant is the fact that you can whip this up in your microwave in three to five minutes. Eating this low-carb dessert warm will make you feel like you've died and gone to lava cake heaven. This is one low-carb dessert worth buying a few special ingredients to make.
