Have you ever stood in front of your closet trying to decide what to wear? Most of us have, both guys and girls. These simple steps will teach your how to choose what to wear quickly and effortlessly.

1. Rid your closet of anything that no longer reflects your personal style. If something no longer fits, get rid of it. Make three piles; those to throw out, those to give away and those to keep. If something is ripped beyond repair or permanently stained, put it in the throw away pile. Reserve the giveaway pile for clothes that don't fit or no longer reflect your taste and style. Now you have the keep pile only. Separate it into current and off season. Then put the off-season items away. Plastic tubs or a spare closet work great for this. You might want to check out WikiHow for some great articles on how to accomplish this first task.

2. Next you want to organize the clothing you are left with. Evaluate each piece of your wardrobe and decide if it is best to fold it or hang it. When you hang up your clothes, do it by grouping all like pieces together. For example, put your slacks, shirts and skirts next to each other. Then further separate these groups by color. That way, when you want your favorite blue slacks and your red short-sleeve shirt, you won't have far to look. Also, turn to bins, tubs and other organizers to story your scarves, belts and other accessories. Once things are organized, you will be able to pull together your perfect outfit in no time.

3. Another step in eliminating choices of what to wear is simple. All you have to do is be aware of what the weather is expected to be. You will make a different choice if it is supposed to rain than if it is going to be sunny. Although the TV, radio, or internet will be wrong at times, at least you will have an idea of how to dress.

4. Make your choice based on what your activity for the day calls for. If you will be outside, then dress accordingly. If you will be in meetings with your boss, you will want to be more professional. It is important and certainly practical to dress for the occasion.

5. Having planned outfits will save you time every day. You can do this several ways. Some people pick out several days worth of clothing in advance. These can be hung together along with all the necessary accents such as jewelry, belts, shoes and socks. If you do this the night before than getting dressed every morning will be a piece of cake. If you like to keep your options open, you can have several of these outfits ready to go and you can choose your outfit to fit your mood.

These simple steps can help take the hassle out of getting ready for your day. Knowing how to choose what to wear for the day can save you time, opening your schedule up for more things you want to do! You might even pick up some more time to enjoy a cup of coffee before you leave!
