5 Reasons to Use Liquid Body Wash Instead of Bar Soap

Susan300
We recently switched our household to liquid body wash instead of bar soap. We have had great experiences with it and I now recommend it to everyone. Here are some of the reasons why...

Great Suds ~
My experience with bar soap was that you had to use quite a bit, and work it into your washcloth quite a while, in order to get nice sudsy lather. I like lots of suds. With liquid body wash one squirt, a quick swish under the running water, and I have mounds and mounds of suds! It feels nice in the shower and my children think the suds are so much fun in the bathtub that they hardly realize they are getting clean while they play in it.

Rinses Clean ~
Liquid body washes in general, and the Jergen's brand that I am using in particular, rinses off your skin much more thoroughly than bar soap does. I don't like that sticky filmy feeling on my skin with bar soap. With liquid Jergen's body wash I don't have to scrub extra hard to wash off the soap that I just washed with. It's also handy when washing the children since trying to rinse a wiggly child in the tub, is hard enough without having to practically scrub off soap residue.

Good Price ~
I compared the money I spent on liquid body wash for a month versus how much we were spending on bar soap for a month. In the end I discovered that we were using less dollars worth of soap when we used liquid body wash. I think the reason is that bar soap tends to get mushy in the soap dish. When you pick it up the first thing you want to do is run it under the water enough to wash off all that slime. But that slime is actually soap that is starting to break down and you are actually washing away part of the bar, basically you are wasting soap. So bar soap won't last as long. With liquid body wash I squirt out only as much as I need and the rest of it is safely in the container until next time with no waste.

Bulk Refills Available ~
One of my favorite things about Jergen's Body Wash is that after I bought my first container with the squirt top, I could replace the bottom section with a bulk container without having to pay for the squirt top over and over. Purchased in bulk it is even less expensive making it an even better bargain for us.

Nice Smell ~
I really enjoy the smell of Jergen's body wash as well as several of the other body washes I have tried. Bar soaps tend to be harsher and have stronger scents that seem too strong for me. I also worry that that much extra perfume in the soap really isn't that good for us, in particular it's probably not so great for my kids. I wonder what kind of chemicals are in the soap to make the smell that strong? Liquid body wash has a milder scent. It still smells clean, but it is not overwhelming.

This has been my experience with liquid body wash and bar soap, and I hope that the results of my family testing out these different products will be helpful to you.
