Skype is a online telephone service that is available to everyone in its most basic form for free. Skype allows you to have another way of messaging your friends online, but not only that; it also allows you to call each other at any time you want for as long as you want and all for free! If you don't yet have Skype, but it sounds interesting go ahead and install it by going to www.skype.com and downloading it from that page. It will not slow your computer down, and it will surely enable you to be more productive on your computer. In this article I am going to talk about 5 reasons why its imperative that you have this service and that you start using it asap!

- Call Me Now website buttons
Have you ever wanted your MySpace, Facebook, blog, or website visitors to have a quick way to contact your via the internet with voice? Well if you have then Skype can provide that for you, by allowing you to get Call Me Now buttons for your site. Each time someone wants to contact you, all they have to do is click the call me now button on there, get Skype for themselves, connect their headset, and viola they've got you. You can also profit from these if you have web stores or if you don't have other ways to stay in contact with people.

- Voicemail/Recording capabilities
Do you currently not have a voicemail plan on your house, dorm, or cell phone? Well if you don't, then its time you get something that will allow your visitors to leave you voice messages for you to hear. Skype will allow your callers to leave you a message in the case that you decide not to answer their call. This is a bought service, but if you look through all the plug-ins available for free for Skype, you're sure to find one that allows you to do this. You can also record your calls with Skype, using the same plug-in mentioned earlier. You will be able to save and hear your conversations or voicemail messages over and over again on your computer.

- Cool messenger/emotions/plug-ins
If you are a college student, you most likely will be spending a lot of time chatting online with all kinds of people, from friends to family, to co-workers from your part-time job. Skype provides you with a cool messenger that even has emotions that you can send back and forth. It also allows you to install plug-ins to give you better functionality; there's about 100 or more plug-ins in all ready to be installed, all for free.

- Lower cell p hone bills
Skype is also something that will help you out while in college. Everyone knows that college students have little or no money at all to waste; Skype can help you to save or totally cut down your cell phone bills. If you are constantly going over your minutes because you're talking to your friend who lives downstairs, across the street, or back home on your cell phone then its time for you both to get Skype on your computer. If you go to Wal-Mart, you can get a headset for under 20 dollars; that's all you need for you both to have lower cell phone bills in no time. Start using the Skype service to talk to each other day and night without limists instead of your cell phone. Soon you'll realize that having 200 minutes per month isn't something that you can't live with thanks to Skype.

- Easier way to communicate when online
Do you find yourself emailing or instant messaging more than ever while in college because you don't want to have to waste your cell phone minutes? Well if this is the case, then start communicating with your friends and family easier, especially when you're both online with Skype. Download Skype yourself and then send invitations to all of your friends and ask them to join so that you can talk to each other for free without ever spending any cell phone minutes at all. Just think of how easy it'll be to communicate with just the push of a button as if you had called them from your speed dial.
