5 Reasons to Switch to a Mac

Recently I've had three friends switch from a PC to a Mac. I've been tempted quite a few times in the past myself, but somehow always came up with something that made me stuck with a PC. Lately though, after talking with my newly converted friends, I came up with 5 good reasons that will going to convince myself to shop for a Mac on my next purchase of a computer.

1) The Look: It's sleek, clean and fresh. I went to a coffee shop last week and sat there for 45 minutes. Across me sat a guy in a dress shirt and jeans with a Mac looking busy. In the course of 20 minutes, I noticed at least 5 people looked at him, nodded and muttered "cool".

2) Easy Setup: As my friend came bouncing up and down with his new Mac in hand, I sat there and thought, it's going to take a while yet until he can 'play' on it. But he proved me wrong, he switched it on, answered a few simple questions, found the wireless network and he was all set to go.

3) Stability: Hitting the reboot button is an everyday occurrence with my windows PC, I just accepted it as something everyone does. According to my friends though, apparently they can count the times they've rebooted the system with one hand since they switched to a Mac 6 months ago.

4) Safer System: Viruses is a gigantic pain in the neck in this day and age, and with a PC, you're extremely vulnerable. I'm not saying that a Mac isn't, but think about it, how many times have you heard a virus targeting a Mac OS? So, since fewer viruses can attack the Mac, your chances of becoming a viral victim are drastically reduced when you switch.

5) Multimedia Capabilities: One of the reasons why I was reluctant to switch in the past is that everyone I knew who was using a Mac then was either a photographer or a graphic designer or a music composer. My concept has always been that Mac is for the artsy professionals. My views has changed little, but in today's world, we are quite multimedia driven, we're taking pictures with our cell phones, we compile short video clips, incorporate music background. All those has given me a more solid reason to switch.

So there you have it, I'm heading to an Apple store next time I'm out to shop for a computer.
