- It gives them something to do
If your kids are given something to do at home, it will ensure that they don't find something non-productive to do outside of your home. This can be a great help if you don't live in the best neighborhood, or if their friends aren't some that you approve of. Giving your kids chores isn't a bad thing, it's a good thing and it will give them something productive to do so that they are not out and about at risk of getting in trouble or getting hurt.
- They will be helping you out
If you are a busy person who has a million and one things to do each day then giving your kids chores is definitely something that you need to start doing. If they are helping you out with the daily doings at home then you will not have to worry too much about all of the things that you have to do and scheduling in time for them. Talk to them about how they would be helping you out greatly by doing some simple chores and they will surely be happy to do it.
- They will feel a sense of accomplishment
When kids finish tasks successfully such as ones that help their parents out, they feel a sense of accomplishment. They feel as if they were productive and they did something that grown ups usually do. If your kids are great with their chores and they do them constantly, dont' forget to praise them for their help. A compliment, an allowance, or even just a small gift once in a while will make them happy and it'll make it all worth it for them.
- They will learn about house upkeep which will help them later in life
Just think about all of those people who get married and still know nothing about how to keep a house running smoothly; now just imagine your kids being the opposite of that because you gave them chores as young kids and they know how to get things done. This is one of the reason why it's imperative that they start to help out around the house at a young age; it will give them the ability to know things about house keeping when they are moving away from home or getting married.
- He/She will understand you a little bit better
If you feel that your kids are underestimating what you do at home then it's definitely time to give them some chores! You will soon see that after they finish with the chores you assign they will understand you a little bit better and they will not take for granted what you do around the house.

children should do chores, but they still should be paid.
I think that is stupid.Kids should have chores, but they should be paid.
I think kids having chores is rediculous, however I have been doing chores since I was eight years old. I still don't think it keeps you occupied cause if they really got bored of doing chores they could just kleave your house without your concent. I beleive that is what a maid is for or if your kids do, do chores for you, you could atleast pay them for what they do monthly or every two weeks.
hey i would like kids to stare to get their lazy self up and clean iam 11 and i been cleaning sins i was 2 now i love cleaning up im all most like a made i love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's stupid. Not everyone has maid's to do everything for them. and futhermore yes let your kids have less stressful lives but don't spoil them rotten when they're young or they will not be ready for the real world.
That is what a maid is for. I see no reason why my kids should be cleaning the house, when I and my wife do not clean it our self and instead have a maid for it for us. I preffer kids to be kids and have worry free time while they are growing up
