5 Reasons Why I Love Gather.com And Not MyLot.com

Idalia Benavides
Have you ever heard of Gather.com or of MyLot.com? Well if you haven't, then let me explain to you what those two websites do and why you should be on them. Gather and MyLot are websites that allow you to join for FREE and then earn points or money by posting topics and having people or you comment on them. They are great and they can really help you out when you're on a budget and you have to give gifts to people. It's an easy way to get some extra cash or gift cards for just hanging out online.

In this article I am going to give you the 5 reasons why Gather.com is my favorite place to be; I will chose it over MyLot any day, and the reasons I have are really good.

- Borders Gift Cards For Referrals
Gather.com offers its users a $20 dollar Border's Gift Card for every 5 users they refer to the site and join; this is awesome! I don't know of any other site that gives referral bonuses like that one. MyLot does give you something for referrals, but that's only if the referrals are being active. They have to be paid or they have to have earned money before you even get anything; that anything is usually a penny or two, unless you're referring by the hundreds.

- Higher payout per post
At MyLot the payout per post is so much lower than it is at Gather. When you're done posting at Gather, you can tell you were on; when posting on MyLot, at the end of the day you cant hardly tell you spent anytime on there. If you go a day posting at Gather and a day posting on MyLot you will notice that the points grow faster on Gather, hands down.

- Payout for responding
MyLot doesn't pay you to respond, if they do, they only pay you if you make long responses. Gather on the other hand pays out for responses all the time and it's probably really close to being the same payout as it is for posting. Commenting on other people's posts is what gets me my points most times and so I know that Gather wants its users to be having conversation, not just posting random topics that go unanswered.

- Better community
If you've ever been to Gather you will notice the little clicks; the groups of people that hang out there are really attached to each other. The Gather community has conversations on a daily basis that are actually pretty cool; they discuss the morning, afternoon, evening, political issues, family issues, and they genuinely help each other out whenever they can.

- Better interface and organization
I can't even begin to explain how long it takes to make a post on MyLot.com; it's horrible, and you can't even use copy and paste there unless you have a certain amount of points with them there. The home page is also not that easy to navigate, there are so many things there and sometimes it's hard to get to the page where you need to go. Keywords are also very tricky there; it's hard for you to find anything twice. In Gather, things are different. Gather gives a URL per keyword and therefore it's easy to find what you need. The Gather search boxes around each page also help; they will allow you to find anything that you're looking for on Gather.com easily and quickly.

I'm not a member of Gather. But so far I'm happy with myLot. As you said, the earnings are slow, but if you know the tricks, you can earn about $10 every month, just as what I do. Anyway, Gather sounds great. I will try. Thanks for sharing your experience about Gather.
