5 Reasons Why the Saw Movie Series Should Be Put to Rest

Will You See Saw IV?

Jody Morse
I was at the movie theater last week and during the previews, I was not surprised to see that another Saw sequel is due out just in time for Halloween. Every year, a new sequel to the Saw movie series comes out around Halloween time and millions are made off people who go to see it. Rumor has it that the Saw movie series will reach at least nine movies - which means that there are five more to go after this Halloween. I personally enjoy going to the movies and, so far, I have seen Saw I, Saw II and Saw III at the movie theater. This year, however, I think that I am going to try to put my foot down. The Saw movie series really needs to be put to rest and here are some of the reasons why.

1. The Storyline of the Saw Movies is Sick

I am not going to drop any spoilers here, but if you have seen any of the Saw movies, then you already know that the storyline of the Saw movies is pretty sick. The whole entire idea that the Saw movies have been based on is completely disgusting. Of course, there are sicker movies which have been released, such as the Hostel movies. All in all, however, anyone will probably agree that the storyline of the Saw movies is just plain morbid.

2. Each Saw Sequel Just Keeps Getting Sicker

I was able to stomach the first Saw movie, although there is no doubt that it had its "moments." Saw II was a little bit grosser than the first movie, but there was only one or two parts that really freaked me out. However, there were long periods of time during Saw III when I was just completely mortified by the disgusting actions. Although I have never personally vomited because of a movie, I can honestly say that I came pretty close when I watched Saw III.

3. The Saw Movies Are Very Repetitive

I realize that the Saw movies are meant to be disgusting. Maybe this in itself is not a good reason to discontinue the Saw movie series. However, one of the biggest complaints that I do have about the Saw movies is the fact that they really do tend to be very repetitive. During each Saw movie sequel, it feels as though I am watching the same thing... over and over again. It just gets more and more disgusting with every new Saw movie sequel that is being made.

4. The Saw Movies Are Filled With Gore

When many people begin watching the Saw movie series, they are expecting to see psychological mind twisters and are surprised to find that these movies do not offer this. In my opinion, the Saw movies are nothing more than gore. Don't get me wrong - there is a bit of a storyline behind these movies. Unfortunately, the writers have chose to focus more on blood and guts than an actual story.

5. Each Saw Sequel Helps You Understand the Last

This is one of the main things that I cannot stand about the Saw movie series. I may have already stopped watching the Saw movies myself after the second one if you didn't need to watch the third movie to understand the second. This can get to be pretty annoying for people who want to stop watching the Saw movies but just need to find out what happens next. If I should choose to see Saw IV, it will only be because you need to see it in order to understand Saw III. My only concern is that this movie might be even more morbid than Saw III and I might not be able to stomach that.

So, will you see Saw IV this Halloween? Is it going to be because you really want to see Saw IV? Or is it because you need to finish watching the Saw movie series in order to find out what will happen next? For many, seeing the Saw movies around Halloween has become a tradition. Maybe it is time to break that tradition.

also.. the woman who wrote this article.. she is pathetic... one of the reasons she states is Saw being Gore.. yeah.. it is gore.. everyone knows that.. its a fact.. and inspite of that people go and watch it.. you need to see beyond that.. if you can't you aren't worthy enuf to write this article.. and people following her are as much dumb as she is..

the people who don't have the appetite for movies showing blood have no right to criticize those who has. the saw series has a beauty in itself in the way how the connections are made through out the series.. and are well disguised.. seen as an individual movie.. it won't make much of a sense and hence the imdb ratings.. but see it as a complete series and u will enjoy the connections and the way story progresses. yeah.. the different kind of sick ways to kill people shown in the series may make someone feel sick.. but then no one is forcing you to watch it and then you end up bad mouthing it..

If you think the saw movies are brilliant then you are an idiot, people who spend an hour and a half or however long it takes are people who need help. From what I have heard about the movie is that it is a stupid idea. If you want a thrill go on a roller coaster or at least watch a film like paranormal activity, but not a person getting tortured, because if you like that sought of stuff then you are crazy. Sure it is just a movie and maybe me and the people who are complaining are taking it too seriously, but soon you will learn that watching this kind of stuff is killing the good part inside you and the only way it can come back to life is with the help of Jesus Christ.

Too intelligent? Have you had your IQ assessed? These films are sick and infantile and so are the people who watch them. I translate ancient documents for a living, but I'm glad to say that I don't possess the kind of "intelligence" that perceives anything beyond sadism and barbarity in these films.

Everyone has a right to an opinion. It is too bad that name calling, nastiness and hate come out. I just find it sad and worrysome that these types of movies are made. For me (My opinion only) any movie depicting torture, pain and agony over and over and showing people at their absolute worst does nothing positive for the Human species.

saw is for uneducated, twisted losers who try to hide the fact that they are sick bastards by claiming the plot is "brilliant". The Saw plots are stupid, the acting is worse than terrible, and if you actually like Saw you are pathetic. and should rethink your life.

lol this writer is beyond uneducated, he fails to see past the "sickness". maybe if he was intelligent he would understand what plot, and storyline have to do in this movie. It is actually quite brilliant play. Unfortunately for this fool he didn't learn how to discipline his mind for proper comprehension.
