5 Short and Sassy Styles for Seniors

Janie King
Short hair styles are the best bet for most mature ladies. As women age, their hair can lose its normal texture, become thinner, and change its color. For these reason, short hair can easier and more stylish. When leading an active lifestyle, a woman needs a hair cut that can be styled in minutes and be out the door! Short hair can give you the look of a face lift instead of long hair that can seem to drag your face down.

The following are five hair styles that will appeal to a senior lady:

Sassy Bob with bangs: Hair looks its fullest when it's cut above or right at the shoulders. Bangs can be a way to hide forehead wrinkles. It's painless and a lot less costly than botox! A one length bob can be a wash and wear look. A light leave in conditioner will keep hair smooth and shiny throughout the day.

Short and spiky pixie cut: This is a hair cut that will work with any texture of hair. It can be a really cute style for those dealing with thinning hair. This style looks nice with a dramatic hair color like black or auburn or more natural shades such as grey or salt and pepper. This is an easy get up and go hair style in the morning. Simply, wash and towel dry to get out excess water. Work some gel or mousse through the hair, form into spikes. Gently blow dry hair with working the hair into spikes.

Boy cut: This Audrey Hepburn inspired look is another easy to style cut. It will require a woman to schedule to frequent hair cuts to maintain the look. This cut would be best for someone with a little bit of a wave for texture. It wouldn't be a bad cut on a woman with thinning hair either. A little bit of texturing cream in towel dried hair would give this haircut a polished look for sure.

Fun and Flippy: If you still have a lot of texture and curl to your hair, flip out! Go for a fun and flirty flip on the ends of your hair. This can be achieved with a round brush and some spray gel.

Layered and lovely: Cute long layers around your face will draw attention to your lovely face. This is a nice look for those who want to keep some length but don't want the hassle of very long hair anymore. Meryl Strep has kept her hair in this style for many years and she always looks great!
