5 Signs that You Are an Annoying Facebook Friend

Are you an annoying Facebook Friend? Are you sure you would know it if you were? If not, here are 5 signs to look for when determining whether or not your Facebook Friends might find you annoying:

Sign #1 - Do you talk about yourself entirely too much? Sure, Facebook is meant to be your own virtual cork-board that highlights things you like. But are you overdoing it? Do you really think that all 256 of your Facebook friends really want to know that you just finished waxing? Or that your back itches? Is it really necessary to tell everyone about every movie you watch, every grocery purchase, and every thought you have? If this sounds like you, your Facebook Friends might find you really annoying. In fact, if you check, you may find that several have already removed you.

Sign #2 - Do you ever post about anything other than yourself? It's not annoying to write about things on your Facebook page that concern only you, but is that all you ever do? Do you ever show interest in anyone else's lives, or are your Facebook posts entirely self centered? If so, you may come across as extremely annoying to your Facebook Friends. On the other hand, if you are entirely self-absorbed, then you probably don't care!

Sign #3 - Do you shove your kids in the faces of your Facebook Friends? Extra cute photos of your kids and funny comments they've made here and there are often welcome reads to your Facebook Friends. However, subjecting them all to an excessive amount of posts that highlight every tiny thing your kid does, usually with some comment from you that insinuates that your Facebook friends should all think your kid is profoundly gifted and extraordinary, is really just annoying. What's more, is that shoving everything your kid does down the throats of your Facebook Friends (i.e.: Johnny is sparring for his purple belt in karate! Suzie just told a joke! Jessica just signed up for ballet, gymnastics, AND tennis!) really just comes off as show-offy.

Sign #4 - Do you dare your Facebook Friends not to proclaim their religious beliefs? Hey, you have every right to discuss your religious beliefs on your Facebook page. But is it totally necessary to often post messages that dare people not to acknowledge God in some way? You know the messages we're talking about here, "If you believe Jesus Christ is your Savior, Like this!". Or, "Let's see how many Christians there REALLY are here, re-post this if you love Jesus!" Okay, I love Jesus, but I'm not re-posting your pushy posts to my Facebook profile. Before you post your next spam-like wall post daring people to risk being thought of as satanic, just ask yourself, what would Jesus do? And then check your Facebook Friends for a few days in a row and don't be surprised when the numbers start decreasing.

Sign #5 - Are your posts completely inconsiderate of others? Unfortunately, maturity (or even mental stability) is not a requirement for being on Facebook. Do you really think your Facebook Friends want to know details about your sex life? Do you fill your wall posts with strings of inappropriate remarks and profanity without any thought about all the people you might be offending? Do you post crude photos to your profile? Sure, you have a certain group of Facebook Friends who are similar to you, and won't blink an eye at these kinds of posts. However, you'll also notice that other people will start disappearing off of your Friend List.

Naturally, the kinds of Facebook Friends who are most annoying will be far too self absorbed to recognize or care that they are annoying anyone. So for those who don't fit the descriptions above, feel free to remove your annoying Facebook Friends without much concern that you might offend them, because chances are they'll never escape their self-preoccupation long enough to even notice that you're gone.
