Frys has a Sony P720 that comes equipped with an Atom Z520 processor, 2GB or Ram, Windows 7 Premium, and 80 Gig hard drive and a crystal clear 8 in display optimized at 1600x768.
This unit has a battery life of about 3.5 hours, supports Wi-Fi, 802.11 b/g/n, and has Verizon Broadband built-in. Sony has this product listed for $849.00, but you can find it at Fry's for $599.00, that is a $250.00 savings off of the list price.
Amazon is offering the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE with a 10-inch screen for $330. This unit built by ASUS and comes equipped with the following: Intel Atom N450 processor, 1 GB of Ram, 250 GB hard drive, Wireless connectivity via 802.11 b/g/n or Bluetooth and Windows 7 Starter. This unit also has an 11 hour battery life.
Shopping at Walmart you will find the HP Mini 210 Netbook with a 10-inch anti-glair display selling for $298.00. This unit has the Intel Atom N450 processor, I GB of Ram, 160Gb hard drive, weighing in at 2.69 lbs. This unit also supports Wi-Fi so you can connect from anywhere as well as 802.11 b/g/n. This small but might Netbook has a webcam, speakers and microphone built in for when you need to take that meeting on the road. The operating system is Windows 7 Starter and the Netbook has an average battery life of 3 hours.
I like some of the deals that I found at Tiger Direct. The bad news is that you have to order and wait for shipping of your new toy. If you are ok with waiting a few extra days, then the Acer Aspire one might just be for you. The Acer comes with the Intel Atom N280 processor and one Gig of Ram. The 250GB hard drive will give you plenty of storage space. The 10-inch screen makes viewing easy on your eyes. This unit has built in WI-Fi and 802.11 b/g/n network connectivity. The installed operating system is Windows 7 Starter, and the unit boasts a 9 hour battery life. Quite affordable at $329.00, this unit will not hurt the pocketbook.
I found that Best Buy has a nice Toshiba Netbook for $329.99. The Toshiba Mini Netbook comes equipped with an Intel N280 Processor, 1 GB of Ram, 160 GB hard drive and a 10-inch display. This unit has all the regular items such as speakers, webcam and has a 9-hour battery life. You can use the unit everywhere you go with 802.11 b/g/n networking or with built-in Wi-fi connectivity.
After looking at all the deals out there I think that the overall best deal is from Fry's on the Sony P720. The $250.00 savings is huge. The other units are all priced about the same and have similar features, and are good deals for the price. All systems listed above are offering a lot of product for the price. All depends on what brand you like, and if the keyboard feels right when you go to type.
