It's easier than you might think to get what you want, to do what you want, or to be what you want... all you have to do is master the art of setting goals.
The first step to do this is, naturally, to:
Recognize Your Goal(s)
I may be saying this because I am a writer, but the most important thing you can do to recognize your goal(s) is to write each one down on paper.
An important guideline to follow is that your goals must be Realistic (seriously, no unicorns!) but also Challenging.
Not only must you recognize each goal but you also must understand each goal... which brings me to the second step. On the second line of your sheet of paper, underneath your goal, you must write down:
Why It Is So Important!!!
You don't ever want something "just because"...
There is always a reason, and that reason is the most important reason why you can have what you want... as long as you include that reason (or those reasons) in your goal setting.
The word of the day here is Motivation, and Motivation is what will drive you to achieve your goal(s.) Without Motivation, of course, you would fall victim to the next important part of your goal setting plans...
Facing Your Obstacles
Life is full of challenges... hurdles... obstacles... downfalls...
Whatever you want to call them, you're used to them and probably very sick of them. However, you might not realize that these obstacles are very important. Without something standing in the way (between you and your goals) you wouldn't want to achieve your goal... there would be no desire for something you can easily have...
So after writing down your goal, and your reasons for wanting this goal, next you want to list down every single obstacle that stands in your way.
You might see the next step coming, and that's a good thing... because goal setting really is quite simple.
Overcoming Your Obstacles
Once you have defined every single challenge, now all you have to do is develop a strategic, effective, step-by-step plan on how to overcome each obstacle. At this point, you will have hopefully realized that overcoming each of these challenges is an individual goal in itself, and should be celebrated as a milestone as you ultimately become closer to achieving your initial goal.
Putting it All Together...
You may have taken several pages of paper per initial goal. That's fine, in fact you should also dedicate an entire journal to log your actions that are taken during the entire process of putting your plan into motion.
When you focus on your Motivation, it is possible to overcome every Challenge. If your goal is Realistic (you aren't trying to find a unicorn) then you can do Anything you put your Heart into!!!
