5 Steps to Clear Skin

Good genes may be the reason why some people have clear skin. Hard work may be the reason why other people have it. I have been going into stores for years - makeup counters, drug stores, grocery stores, and people always tell me, "Wow, you have great skin." I've tried to buy a foundation so I can get makeup with a lot of coverage, and all I get is comments like, "You don't need foundation. You've got great skin. Just go for a little tinted moisturizer." What's my secret? Was I born with fabulous skin? Did I skip over adolescents and bloom into an an adulthood of acne free, moisturized, glowing skin? Well, no. I do a lot of work. Here are 5 steps to clear skin. Some of these may surprise you.

Exfoliate.

I read somewhere that as we get older, skin cell regeneration or renewal does not occur as quickly as it did when we were younger. Therefore it's important to exfoliate and therefore speed up the skin renewal process. I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub and it works great. Tiny micobeads really get down into the pores and give you a deep cleaning that lasts.

Wear makeup, but clean your makeup brushes

Time and time again, you'll hear people with good skin say they don't wear makeup. Well, I'm putting an end to that. I wear makeup just about every day, and if I don't wear it, it's not intentionally.. However, to keep my skin clear, I look after my makeup brushes. After each use, it's important to clean them throughly. Otherwise, the next time you use the brush, you will be reapplying bacteria to your face. Sometimes, washing a brush constantly in your white bathroom sink can get a little messy. However, wet wipes you purchase at a drug store will work just as well as soap and water for cleaning makeup brushes.

Wear sunscreen of at least spf 30 every single day

I put on sunscreen every morning even in the winter months, and my makeup has sunscreen in it as well. Studies have looked at twins who never knew each other until later on in life. Sometimes their skin looks complete different from each other. The one factor that made that difference was sun exposure. The twin that had been exposed to the sun the most usually looked much older than the other twin. After reading some of those studies, I have made it a point to put on sunscreen. Sure, I don't have a twin, but I use my own imagination and think to myself, ok if I did have a long lost twin who suddenly appeared, how would she look? Would she make me think I had let myself go? Would she look gorgeous? This sort of thinking really helps me to get a sense of my own potential.

Don't touch your face throughout the day

If you don't touch your face, you'll prevent the transfer of bacteria to your skin. The hands are exposed to so many germs via the keyboard at work, the telephone, the bathroom, and other things. To keep pores clean, avoid touching your face at all costs, and wash your hands often just in case you forget.

Eat plenty of fruit

I eat a lot of fruit. My favorites are oranges, strawberries, and recently I have started eating prunes. Don't let the name prunes fool ya. I don't why this fruit gets such a bad wrap, but it's delicious. Fruit helps to keep your body healthy inside and out.

Well those are my steps to healthy skin. How could I improve? i need to drink more water and wash my face at night..then my skin would be just perfect!
