5 Strong and Simple Reasons to Write for Associated Content

Laurie Meekis
If you like to write, here are 5 reasons to write for Associated Content:

1. Exposure: The internet is an ever growing and constantly expanding world. Associated Content is not just limited to the writers at the site, but is available to any person on the planet that has access to a computer and the internet. Associated Content is a great place to show your work and your style. Having your writing on display at Associated Content is also one method of showing your skills to a prospective client or someone considering hiring you for a writing assignment. Remember again, anybody can view your body of work. You never know who might be reading your articles or prose. Consider that when you submit content of any kind. Put this question in your head when you submit anything here. "Would I want someone who is thinking of using my services for a writing job, to see what I have submitted here on Associated Content?" Just as importantly remember people you know in real life have access to Associated Content too. Don't forget either, that Associated Content has a large presence on Google searches, so as a writer on AC, you stand a much bigger chance of being noticed in the sea of internet information.

2. Connections: The people who write for Associated Content come from all walks of life. So do the people who get to the articles via search engine. They represent many industries. You might be surprised what you find out about some of your fellow writers on AC. Someone you connect with may show you the way to go with your writing. They may turn out to be someone you can work with on a project. They may know somebody interested in the particular subject matter you have knowledge and write about. They may be a friend to share back and forth with. Some may have accomplished very interesting things in their lives, which will surprise you. There a quite a few people on the site that are already in print in magazines and books.

3. Practice: The more you write, the more you can hone your skills. Associated Content is a great place to do that and to get feedback from other writers. Even the best writers in the world are constantly learning and changing. The more involved you become with Associated Content and the people here, the more your mind will open up to possibilities and new ways of expressing yourself.

4. Increased Knowledge: Some articles require a great deal of research. Others do not, but instead use your own life experiences as a resource. The more you vary your work, the more you learn. It also follows that the more you read here on Associated Content, the more you might learn. In turn you can use that knowledge for more of your own writing.

5. Income: Initial income is not large, but it is income. The more you write for Associated Content, the more you earn. Even if some submissions get turned down, many others are likely to be accepted. With the page view bonus system in place, the earning potential has increased. Once an article is written and published, the earnings can keep going up and continue to flow in. This is particularly true with evergreen topics. As long as you log in at least once every 30 days, your submissions will continue to pull in page view money. That can continue long after the initial payment has come and gone.

It's something to do, it's certainly not about the .50 to 1.00 per hr. I make here, upfront offers included. I do think I've gotten more serious about the technical quality of my writing and editing since starting out, so I take your point about honing one's skills as a very valid one. I'm sure if I ever want to make a living, I'll have to get something substantial published elsewhere....but who knows?

Great points. I especially like #1 and is one of the main reasons that I write here - to establish myself as an expert in my field and show potential clients that I know what I'm talking about as a professional scrapbooker.

I have been looking for one reason to continue writing for Associated Content. There are so many talented CP's and every subject under the sun seems to have a zillion articles already. The reason I joined AC was their little blurb: Do you have something to say on this subject? I did. Of course what I have to say on that topic is not about Hilton-Jolie-Simpson-Spears or the other subjects that they have "call for content". Can you do a "5 More Reasons to Write for AC" aritcle. Please. : >

I get great feedback from my articles, even though I'm not a frequent contributor.
