Technology Might Just Be the Perfect Gift for Mom

Robert Cooper
It is true that Mother's Day is that one day a year where everyone recalls the great things their mother has done for them. It is also the time where these same people search for the perfect gift.

According to a survey by market research firm BIGresearch for the National Retail Federation (NRF) trade group, average spending for mother per purchase will be $87.70. This is over $12 up from last year's spending.

So as a mother's day purchaser, what will that perfect gift be from you this year? Technology is not at the top of the list when purchasing that perfect gift for mother's day but it could be!

Here are the 5 top technology purchasing suggestions to delight even the difficult to shop for mother.

Mother's Day Technology Gift Suggestion #1

Technology is always great but on mother's day make sure it is something to enhance and brighten her personal life. No device to keep her organized or to schedule appointments will be good for this special mother's day. Does your mother like to read? If yes, then one of the new e-readers on the market is a great choice. I like the Amazon Kindle but the new iPad may provide her with additional applications she will love. Either way she will love the gift. Pre-load some of the great classics which can be loaded for mere pennies from eBay and she will be in fantasy heaven for years to come.

Mother's Day Technology Gift Suggestion #2

If your mother is anything like mine she lives for proudly showing off her family to her friends. The new Samsung Dual View TL220 or the Nikon Cool Pix are the perfect easy to operate reasonably priced point-n-shot. Purchase it quickly and you can load it up with images of you and your family just waiting for her to share or print for her enjoyment. There is nothing quite like seeing the smile on the face of a proud mother and grandmother. And she can carry it with her and snap some of her own great pictures.

Mother's Day Technology Gift Suggestion #3

So you were the great sibling that already bought their mother a great digital camera. Then the perfect complement to her digital camera for her enjoyment and home design is a digital photo album. They come in all shapes and sizes. Some with a stand for the coffee table or shelf and some that fit in your pocket or take with you on a key chain. The picture quality is amazingly clear and some even come with a video display feature. The best part about these viewers is that the images can be changed very easily so you can have the latest in view at all times.

Mother's Day Technology Gift Suggestion #4

Okay so you thought of the digital camera idea last year and your sister already told you that she got your mother a great digital photo frame to give to mom on mother's day this year. So what is left for you to do? How about a great new photo printer? Digital is great but my mom loves to be able to hang on to her photos. The perfect mother's day gift then is a photo printer and supplies. An example of one great photo printer is the HP Photosmart B8550. She will love being able to make prints in her home of those great snap shots.

Mother's Day Technology Gift Suggestion #5

If your mother really is one who has everything then it may take a little more thought to find that perfect gift this year. When it comes to gifts mother's usually get everyone else great gifts but don't purchase anything for themselves. So how about a great new Smartphone? One that takes great digital photos and video so she will never miss any great moment would be a great gift. Nokia has a great new Xpressmusic 5800 that might be that perfect mother's day gift. Or if mom has a new phone how about giving her some additional storage for mother's day. Extra memory is always needed. Of course make sure you add something personal along with it like a photo card.

So start now and get to thinking of what mom would truly love for mother's day. Get the gift that is as special as your mom is special.
