In 2008 the Department of Health designated September as National Yoga Month. The month long event is a national observance and awareness campaign to educate people about the health benefits of yoga and inspire people take on a healthy lifestyle.

Yoga has been known to have a wide range of health benefits both physically and mentally. The exercise not only works with the body as a preventative measure for diseases and health conditions, it has also been known to decrease stress and anxiety. Consequently, in a country where we are used to having fast paced lives yoga is the perfect supplement to balance out our mind and body.
