Choose a fitness program that is right for you. Everyone is different, and you need to realize that you may not be in the same shape or have the same abilities as other people at the gym. It is recommended that you consult your doctor or hire a personal trainer before attempting any strenuous exercise. Pushing yourself to accomplish a program that is not for you will increase the risk of failure and injuries.
Have realistic goals. You will be greatly frustrated if you wish to lose 20 pounds or 4 inches on muscle on your arms in one week. Instead of setting yourself up for failure of an unobtainable goals, start small, with something you feel pretty confident in achieving. After you have reached a few targets, you can begin to raise your expectations for your workout and your body.
Become systematic in your workouts. Repeating the same sets of exercise and using the same amount of weight for months will eventually flat line your success. You should be gradually increase the resistance weekly to strengthen your muscles. Keep a log of your progress, so you do not move too quickly. Doing so could result in muscle strain or injury.
Concentrate on exercises that effectively work your muscles. As your muscles grow, you will start to burn more calories and lose fat faster. Performing a workout that affects multiple muscles at once is highly recommended for its effectively and time saving. Working three muscles in ten minutes is much better than only working one!
Stay motivated! This is the number one reason why many people give up on their exercise programs. Mix up your workouts so they do not get boring. Also, track your results and reward yourself for a job well done. Get a workout partner, so that you feel accountable for your actions. Also, a little friendly competition can make things interesting! Just be sure not to over do it!!
Follow these tips, and you are sure to gain a stronger, muscular body. Not only will you look and feel better, you will be ridding your body of excess fats, making it healthier. With all that success, who wouldn't want to become buff??
