Buy your ticket in advance

Make sure to buy your ticket in advance. You will usually find the best deal when you purchase your tickets months in advance of your travel date. Greyhound.com bus has excellent deals for anyone who purchases a ticket 14 days in advance. Another option is the airlines that offer great deals when you buy in advance.

Travel more miles instead of a short distance

It is actually cheap to travel further away from home than it is a short distance. Make sure to get your moneys worth when you travel. You want to go as many miles as possible. You could often combine trips together. You could go traveling for two weeks instead of one week in order to have a longer trip.

Use your credit cards to pay for the trip

It is a win win situation since people often get free hotels or free airline for each purchase. It depends upon which credit company that you use. You could gain even more points on your credit card in order to reduce the cost of your future trips too.

Look for restaurants in the area where you can use plenty of your reward points at

Some restaurants or fast food places have reward points that they award to frequent customers. You can use your reward points when you travel in order to help you reduce the cost of the food expense. You will be able to buy food for cheap with your reward points. Make sure to save up those reward points months before you go traveling.

Stay with friends or family

You could stay with friends or family when you go traveling. It will reduce the cost of a hotel. You could save up to hundreds of dollars by staying with friends or family. You can be gone for a whole entire month if you have enough friends and family that are willing to let you stay with them that long.

Stay in a campground

You could setup a tent in a campground. It is cheap to spend the night in a campground. This is a great way to have a place to sleep for cheap. This would work great during the summer time. The winter would probably be more difficult.
