Shopping for Christmas presents can be fun, exciting, and stressful all at the same time. All year we patiently wait for Thanksgiving, knowing the stores will have their best sales the day after, and we can get the must have items we want really cheap. We will set our alarm clock set for 2:30 A.M., just so we can be one of the first in line when the doors open at 4 A.M, only to find out that people have camped out all night, and we are number 100 in line. This Christmas shopping frenzy can be a rush for some people, but for others it can be overwhelming, and stressful. The people who can not tolerate large crowds pushing and shoving will miss out on the great deals that the stores have to offer. No need to worry, Christmas shopping does not have to be stressful, you can accomplish your shopping goals without having to battle the early Christmas shoppers.

1. The first tip would be to shop online. Even though the stores open their doors at 4 A.M., many times if you log onto their website after midnight, you can snag that great deal, omitting the large crowds of people. Online shopping gives you the opportunity to purchase the sale items in store, and other items online that are not sold in the store itself. Shopping online also allows you to take advantage of online coupons and codes found at www.couponmountain.com which can give you additional savings.

2. My mother always said to shop early and avoid the rush. Shopping early will definitely eliminate the holiday stress. Items on your list to buy like perfumes, colognes, and spa items are the same prices throughout the year. Shopping earlier in the year, you can pick up expensive spa items that are marked down to make room for new items, at rock bottom prices.

3. Holidays are a great time to attend craft shows, after all , craft shows are the one place to find unique gifts. Crafters been busy all year making jewelry, birdhouses, landscaping items, glassware, and wall art. The prices at these craft shows are really great compared to major department stores.

4. Shopping via catalog will omit the busy malls, and pushy people. Businesses who have catalog ordering like Swiss Colony and Figi's, have a wide selection of food gifts. There are fruit baskets, jams, meats, and tower gifts that are full of delicious foods. These places do offer free shipping, which can put some extra money back into your pocket.

5. Sometimes the best gift to give, is money. We know people can be picky, and the chances of them returning our gift is 80%, so why not give them cash instead. Stores like Hallmark and Walgreen's all sell money holders for Christmas, which you can still wrap up and place a bow on.

6. Gift cards are always a great idea for presents. The gift recipient can take the gift card and purchase what ever they want or need. Gift cards are a one stop shopping at local pharmacy stores like Walgreen's, and Rite Aids. You can find restaurant gift cards, clothing store gift cards, and sporting good gift cards, there is something for everyone in the gift card isle.
