Are you getting divorced due to an abusive husband? Are you concerned about your safety? Learn four ways on how to protect yourself during the divorce since abusers only get more dangerous when you leave them. Here are five tips on how to deal with an abusive husband during the divorce.

Keep A Copy of Protective Order With You At All Times

You need to keep a copy of the protective order against your abusive husband with you at all times. You need the copy just in case someone dropped the ball at law enforcement office. You want to be able to show a officer a copy of the protective order that is temporary or permanent that the judge signed.

Be Prepared He Will Say Anything To Try To Get You To Drop Divorce

You need to emotionally strong enough to not give into his charming words. He will say anything to try to get you to dismiss the divorce papers. Do not give up on getting a divorce from the abuser since it will only get worse. A divorce is one more step to getting your freedom back in life. Never give up all your freedom on one person despite how great you the individual may appear to be. Always remember that any really nice person can turn really ugly in a matter of minutes if you make them upset enough.

Record Every Conversation With The Abusive Husband

Do record every conversation that you have with your abusive husband. He may try to talk to you in places like a courthouse. He may even try to talk to you in places that you frequent. Record every conversation just in case he threatens you.

Document Everything

Document everything with times and accurate dates. Make sure to keep a good log along with any evidence that is stored away somewhere. Do not put evidence in your house, but keep it in a safe deposit box where no one can destroy it. Any abusive husband will attempt to destroy any hardcore evidence by smashing or burning or whatever method.

Tell Someone About Everything Just In Case You End Up Dead

It is not being extreme. An abuser will not hesitate to put his wife six feet under if he got pissed off enough. Abusers often make statements about suffocation before death occurs in most cases. Do not take any threats about your life from your abusive husband lightly. Make sure to report any death threats from your husband to the proper authorities. Do not hesitate to notify family members and friends about any threats that he made about them too. Make sure to tell your friend and family members anything that you kept a secret that makes you fear your husband sometimes.
