Hair Curlers
My Grandma was the master of innovative ideas. She used empty film canisters to roll her hair. It worked to, she always had beautiful curls. To do this trick simply take the caps off, roll your damp hair around the canister and use a hair clip to fasten it in place.
Carry spices for camping
When I go camping I have to take my salt, pepper and other spices with me. Taking the full size forms is inconvenient. This is where film canisters are the perfect answer. Just put your spice in the canister and the tight lid keeps the contents inside the canister. You can also use this for taking to work. I also use film canisters to take my salad dressing with me to work for my salad.
Nail Polish Remover
This one is great when you are traveling. Instead of carrying a full size bottle of nail polish remover, use a film canister. Put a small piece of sponge inside the canister, pour the nail polish remover in saturating the sponge. Then snap the cap on the canister. The canister is spill proof and when you need to fix your nails while on the go, you jus insert a finger and rub it against the soaked sponge and the polish is gone.
Toy for cat
Everyone knows that cats are amused by small objects that rattle and shake. Cats love to chase, and pounce on rolling, noisy objects. To give your cat entertainment, drop a few dried beans, some dried rice, or other such small objects, into an empty film canister and snap on the lid. Your cat will love the new toy and be entertained for hours.
Travel sewing kit
It seems like every time I travel, I always have a small mishap happen with my clothing. I use to never have any materials n hand and just had to give up wearing the clothing. Now I have what I need, for a small sewing repair on hand. A film canister will hold pins, buttons, and some needles. I put 3 three pre-treaded needles, with different colored thread in my canister so I am ready with a color I will need.
