5 Ways to Make $100 in a Couple Days' Time

Make Some Extra Money when You Need It

Sara Bianco
In my life there have been many times that I needed just an extra $100 to get by that week, or month with my bills. I felt frustrated and angry because $100 doesn't seem like much and I felt I should be able to come up with that amount rather quickly. Well I have since come up with several ways to get that extra money I need. Hopefully you won't need this often but those occasions do arise, like the birthday you forgot to buy for, or just an unexpected bill. Out of these 5 ways one should work for you!

Yard sale.

Most people have piles of things they no longer need or use. Unload your garage, attic, and closets and have a yard sale. Even though the price per piece might be low the amount you sell and the junk you have gotten rid of will make it well worth it. Depending on where you live just putting your things out on the lawn are enough to attract buyers. Running an ad in the local paper is another way to ensure some traffic.

Sell items on Ebay.

If you don't like the yard sale concept then go through your items and pick the ones that are the most desirable by other people (baby clothes, books, DVDs, CDs). You can sell each item individually, or in lots (groups of more than one item). Listing on Ebay is easy to do even for beginners. Plus it is fun and can be addicting watching for bids to show up on your items. Most people have more things than they realize that other people are willing to pay money to own. The more rare the better, but clothes usually do well and most people have clothes they can part with.

Wrap up your change.

In a world of people that think change is worthless this will surprise you. I know in my house there are probably a dozen places I can find spare change laying around (including my daughter's piggy bank, not advising this!!). From the laundry room where I pulled out my husband's change, to the kitchen drawer where he drops his change, to the nightstand where change gets dropped there are lots of places to look. I suggest getting a bag or container of some kind and collect the change from all these sources, don't forget the ash- trays of your cars! Your local bank will give you coin wrappers for free. Enlist the help of your kids or family to wrap your small treasure. Not all banks will have this but some have a coin sorter and will do it free of charge for you. There are also those coin star locations but there is a fee to use them. You will more than likely be surprised with what you come up with!

Cash in savings bond.

If you are like me you still have some of these lying around. Mine are from my childhood that weren't mature the last time I needed them. So I stuck them aside for a rainy day. This can be your rainy day. If you don't have savings bonds, I suggest you invest some extra money in them when you have it. They are safe secure investments that take time, but don't require lots of investment.

Offer some cleaning services.

I have lots of friends and family that would be more than willing to pay me to clean their homes for them. Especially as an occasional event they are not committed to paying out each week, but they get to "take a week off" from their cleaning. Or offer to "spring" clean their house. Wash the windows, the curtains, the baseboards, these things that need to be done seasonally but many times get ignored. This is a quick way to make $ and can be accomplished in a days time
