5 Ways on How Being Frugal Can Help Make You Rich

Michelle Knudson
Frugal living is often perceived at something that poor people do in order to survive from month to month. Frugal living can make you rich when you do the right things by the way that you save and manage money. A millionaire wise man once told me that it isn't about how much money that you make in life, but it is how you manage that money from year to year that makes you rich. Here are five ways frugal living can help make you rich.

Don't Spend Money On Wants

People get broke over the years when they often buy wants in life and not needs. The things that you want in life is not something that you absolutely need so therefore it is a waste of money over the years. The cups of coffee from Starbucks adds up. The salon trips every week add up. The shopping trips add up. Think about how much all of it costs you each year. Impulse buy tactics are what sales person and advertisements rely on.

Save Residual Income

Any money that you receive on a regular basis each month without having to work for it then put it into savings. You want to save every penny of residual income in a savings account to watch it grow. Residual income can make you rich over a certain amount of years or months depending upon the amount. Make your residual income as high as possible over the years.

Do Put Extra Money Into Savings No Matter What

You have the option of setting up an automatic transfer from checking account into savings. You will notice that you don't miss the money since it is not there in the checking account balance for you to look at. You won't be as tempted to spend the money in the savings account since you don't notice it as much.

Pay Off Loans Immediately

Some things in life such as a home or education loans are almost required. You have the option of paying them more quickly in order to save more money. You can save money when you pay it off early since you have less interest. The less interest you pay then the more money in your pocket. You can bank the profit. The interest rate is how lenders make money on loans.

Pay Cash

Cash will often help you receive discounts from certain stores. When you decide to pay cash for an item then you don't have any interest whatsoever so it saves you money. Every penny adds up in your savings when you don't pay interest on items charged to credit cards or department cards.

Don't ditch every form of entertainment that you have in life so you aren't bored to death. Just don't overspend on luxury want items that you don't really need. Use that old cell phone til the day it dies. Eliminate that home telephone unless you really need it. Just don't spend money carelessly on want items. Several people watch the news, TV shows, and read information all from the internet in the home. For one small price you can be entertained all month long by the Internet on any computer.
