1. Wear Curly Hairstyles
Curls are among the simplest and least expensive ways to boost dull, flat hair that I have practiced during my styling efforts. After using hair wax, I have learned that setting lotion works better to keep curls in place. Apply a modest amount of setting lotion to your hair and then style it with rollers. Keeping rollers in my hair for at least eight hours before removing them helped to prevent my style from getting flat. Create the desired style that you want after removing the rollers and then finish it with holding spray to boost dull, flat hair.
2. Use Volume Boosting Hair Products
After realizing that flat hair is more prevalent in women with thin strands, I changed my styling regimen to include volume adding products. Use shampoos and conditioners with volume benefits as one of your main ways to boost dull, flat hair. These products can help thicken and add more body to the appearance of your hair. Use a volume boosting hair spray during your styling routine to maintain thickness.
3. Dry Hair Upside Down
Proper drying can provide an instant boost to dull, flat hair. I learned this volume boosting hair drying trick through trial and error and noticed immediate results. Start from the back of your head and work your way to the front when drying wet hair. I have tried this approach to drying my hair several times and noticed that it helps to create a more dramatic style and appearance.
4. Get a Layered Haircut
Styles with multiple layers are one of the most beneficial ways to boost dull, flat hair. Layered haircuts provide the illusion of a fuller crown. Some hairstyles require your hair to be cut in shorter layers starting at the crown and getting longer with each section. Alternative hairstyles such as the angled bob feature shorter layers of hair in the back with longer strands in the front. Hairstyles that incorporate layers are appropriate for many women because they can work with short or long hair. A layered haircut can also help to remove split ends and aid in the repair of damaged hair.
5. Use Glossing Hair Styling Products
Hair styling products that are used as a finishing touch is one of the quickest ways to boost dull, flat hair. My hair has been styled straight and curly but looked dry until I added glossing products. A variety of hair glossing gels and sprays boost dull, flat strands and make them look great for an entire week. While some glossing products can be greasy and weigh the style down, I have also found hair polishing options that are easier to use.
