Spring Dining Room Idea #1
A tablecloth is a great way to add a splash of color to your dining room area. In spring you may want to cover your table with bright or pastel colors, either in solid or in pattern. Soft pinks will add a bit of romance, bright yellow will brighten up the room, soft green will remind you of the garden, or whatever you decide. Just go with a color that suits your style and tastes.
Spring Dining Room Idea #2
Set the table with dinner plates that scream spring. Plates which feature a trim of beautiful roses would add a bit of elegance to your spring table. Or you could go with solid colored plates in a multitude of colors such as green, yellow, and blue for a more casual look. A plate with a centered flower such as this one would make a great addition to your spring table as well.
Spring Dining Room Idea #3
Changing tableware isn't the only way to update your dining room for the spring season. Consider changing the artwork on the walls for a spring time look. Choose artwork which shares the colors of your dining table linens and plates to compliment the décor. Botanical prints would make an obvious choice for spring wall décor but you don't have to stick with strictly floral. Impressionist paintings of women holding umbrellas or a simple country scene would work great. Themed prints will help give your dining room definition whether it is French Country or Modern.
Spring Dining Room Idea #4
Change out those dark thick wintery curtains for some light and airy see through cottons to brighten up your dining space for spring. Lacy white curtains have a bit of transparency which will allow a lot of light to come into your dining room while keeping your privacy during the day. Be sure to hang blinds in the window for privacy at night though. Or you could choose to go with light pastels such as yellows, purples, and greens to dress your windows. Whatever you decide be sure to keep it light to let in as much light as possible to shine in on your spring table.
Spring Dining Room Idea #5
A centerpiece helps to dress up your dining table and tie together your theme. In this case we are trying to achieve a spring like theme and what would be more perfect than a floral centerpiece? A simple spring floral centerpiece can be a row of short vases filled with spring blossoms. Or you could stick with a simple bouquet of flowers in a large vase. To give your dining area a more rustic look you can place small flowerpots with blooming flowers or grass into a small metal decorative tub. Your grocery store also has ingredients which would make for a great spring centerpiece in the produce aisle. Choose citrusy fruits such as lemons, oranges, and limes to fill a pretty bowl and set in the middle of your table. You could also add plastic or silk flowers in the arrangement by tucking stems in between the various fruits. Another idea would be to fill short round glass vases, like the ones you can find in dollar stores, with miniature lemons and limes and line them on your table. A fun idea would be to fill parfait glasses with the miniature fruit and place one at each table setting.
These five fun spring decorating ideas are sure to liven up your spring dining room after the dark cold months of winter. The best part of these ideas is that you can customize the décor to your personal tastes. Why not try one of these ideas in your dining room this spring?
