5 Ways to Bring Spring into Your Kitchen

Sally Albright
Spring is here, and it's time to bring some new life into your kitchen with a few special touches that announce that spring has officially arrived. Here are just five special touches you could make to give your kitchen the look of spring.

Spring Kitchen Decorating Idea #1

Tulips are a beautiful flower often found aplenty at your local florist and grocery stores in spring. Placing a vase or two filled with this beautiful flower can be an easy way to bring a touch of spring to your kitchen counters. If you have a window you can place several smaller sized vases filled with tulips in a line on your window sill and save on kitchen counter space. If tulips aren't your style then you could certainly pick from other flower types such as daffodils and roses. Flowers can be found in many different colors which make them easily adaptable to the color scheme of your kitchen.

Spring Kitchen Decorating Idea #2

Walls and windows can be dressed up for spring using dried flowers. Simply tie a bunch of flowers, preferably ones you displayed in vases in your kitchen, and hang them upside down on your kitchen walls or in front of the kitchen window. For tips and instructions on properly drying flowers you can visit this link. Dried flowers can also be displayed in vases on your kitchen counter to dress them up for spring.

Spring Kitchen Decorating Idea #3

Oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, lemon, and limes are all part of the citrus family of fruits. These hardy fruits make perfect edible countertop decorations during the spring. You can display the fruit in pretty decorative bowls or a singular bowl and place them on your kitchen counter or as a spring centerpiece on your kitchen island. Lemons and limes can also be packed into clear floral vases for more compact kitchens in order to save on counter space. Mesh onion or garlic bags could be reused as a way to hold lemons and onions for hanging on the wall during spring as well.

Spring Kitchen Decorating Idea #4

Cake plates are great for storing and displaying cakes, cupcakes, brownies, as well as other delicious treats. They can also be used as a decorative piece in your kitchen while empty. During the spring months you can use your cake plate to display plants, flowers, and even fruit. Fresh flowers can have their stems inserted into floral foam as shown here. Small plants can be placed under the glass dome for your own kitchen terrarium. Fruit can be neatly piled in the center of the plate for a delicious display. All of these ideas can bring a hint of spring into your kitchen through the use of your cake plate.

Spring Kitchen Decorating Idea #5

Plants can bring a bit of green and a bit of spring into your kitchen. One plant type that makes a great addition to your kitchen is herbs. Fresh herbs don't only add some green to your kitchen space but they also make tasty add-ins for your recipes and even smell great. Great tips, honestly. This is nice too because it's a viale option for those of us who are financially challenged...haha. I've been trying to come up with some plants to have in the house that aren't poisonous for the kitties, this would be a great middle ground. :)
