5 Ways to Exercise when You're Snowed In

You can't get to the gym because everything is snowed in so you will have to miss today's workout right?
WRONG!

Can't get to the gym because the roads are icy?
No excuse for missing you exercise routine you just need to change it up a little bit!

Get creative and think outside the gym with these exercise ideas for a snowy day.

1. Shovel the Drive way.
Meat your target heat rate and do your strength training all at once. Shoveling snow is a total body workout. There is no gym routine imagined that will exercise you better than shoveling snow!

2. Bake Bread.
Kneading dough is a great upper body work out. Working bread dough is an especially good workout for your grip and forearms.

3. Carry Things Up and Down the Stairs.
There is a reason why Rocky ran those famous Philadelphia steps. Just because you can't get to the stair climber at the gym doesn't mean you can't climb. Most houses have all kinds of things upstairs that need to come down and vice versa so get you work out done and some house keeping done at the same time.

4. Have a Dance Party.
Turn on MTV or the radio and have a dance party. Get your body moving and do your own aerobics. If you have kids pull them into the party and spend some great time bonding while you boogie.

5. Have a Snowball Fight.
Get out in that snow that's keeping you in and have some fun. Walking in snow and playing in the snow is a great workout and the fresh air will do you good.
