5 Ways Joint Ventures Boost Your Business

Carma Spence
A joint venture happens when two or more businesses join forces to create a product or services that provides a benefit to a shared target market, as well as mutual benefit for the businesses involved. When your business goes into a project with another business, it can boost your business in many ways. Here are just five of them.

1. Increased visibility

Through your joint venture, you'll gain exposure to your joint venture (JV) partner's clients. This multiplies the number of prospects you can reach and increases your visibility in the market.

2. Greater expertise status

Choose your joint venture partners well and some of their "glitter" will rub off on you. Whether we like it or not, prospects often judge your business by the company you keep. Partner with a well-respected business and you'll gain some of that respect, as well.

3. Reduced risk

Some joint venture projects spread the risk of failure between the partners. This allows each JV partner to try something new to build market share, while not having to shoulder the burden of risk all by themselves. Yes, you'll share the success, as well. But if the project doesn't go as well as planned, you'll at least have some buffer to protect your business.

4. Access to greater resources

When you partner with a business that has resources you lack, and provide resources they lack, the sum of your two businesses is exponentially improved. Together, you can accomplish what neither of you could accomplish alone. This creates a win-win-win situation where not only do both businesses benefit, but so do the clients.

5. Shortened learning curve

Sometimes we learn better by doing. When you partner with another business, you can learn some amazing things that might have taken you three times the time and effort to learn on your own. And, more than likely, the learning will be a two-way process, for everyone knows something that another does not.

No matter how you look at it. Creating strategic joint venture partnerships that focus on your business goals while helping another business focus on theirs, will boost your business and strengthen your standing in your niche.
