5 Ways My Life Has Changed After Becoming a Parent

S. Morris
I found out I was pregnant for the first time at a young age. I was also already about six months pregnant. Of course when you first find out you become excited, worried, nervous, joyous, and more! For many different reasons you find these emotions rushing through you. It becomes a whole other story when you actually become a parent.

Here are five ways becoming a parent changed my life:

1. More responsible. I have definitely become more responsible becoming a parent. I Have changed a lot of my ways to better life for my kids. I think becoming an adult hasn't been the thing to make me more responsible, its my children.

2. Different perspective on life. Becoming a parent has really changed my perspective on life. I see things differently. Not just for me, but as looking through the eyes of my little ones. I ask myself, what do they see about life? I may see more of the bad, but they see the good. It is so different now.

3. More loving. I have become a more loving person. I feel like I have that unconditional love now and it because of becoming a parent that I have it. I love them more then anything in the world. I did not really ever have that before in my life. It is awesome, as many parents would agree!

4. Saving. Becoming a parent has changed the saving in my life. Though I want to buy my kids all kinds of new things, my mind goes back to the fact that I have to save for their first car, college, etc. That would be more important then the newest Barbie or toy car.

5. Education. Having children gave me a better understanding of education. I was a good student in grade school, but now I understand that's not the end of an education. It goes on for a long time. It is very important to me now. Not just for them but for myself as a parent. To better my education, helps my children as well. It furthers our lives together. Becoming a parent made education important in all aspects of life.

These are just five of the ways my life has changed. They are definitely for the better. Becoming a parent has been a big part of me as a person. I enjoy every minute of it!

My fiance's kids have really grown me up- everything I do, I think about their benefit from it. I actually cook now- real food, not the microwave stuff, and just mother hen the kids like crazy. Put on your coat! More blankets! I won't drive them anywhere without having a whole car load of food and blankets in case we get stuck, and when they are outside, I have to keep looking out the window to make sure they haven't been kidnapped. My fiance chuckles because I'm such a worrywort- but I love them so much I cry if they get a splinter

I really get the more loving aspect. I am so much more compassionate of people. I can hardly watch a movie that contains a child without crying for some reason or another!
