5 Ways to Look Thinner Without Losing Weight

You can look thinner without losing weight by using these skinny tips!

Wear high heels. Remember that old joke: I'm not overweight, I'm "undertall"? Well, there's some truth to that! If you can't lose weight by this weekend, you can certainly buy a pair of three, four, or five inch heels! Yep, add five inches to your height and you'll look 30 pounds lighter.

Use shaping undergarments. This tip is probably no secret- it's been around for centuries. What we call Spanx our grandmothers called girdles, and the generations before them were wearing whale-bone corsets. Throughout time women have used restrictive undergarments to hold "this" in and push "those" up. There's no shame in it.

Don't wear skin-tight clothes. Too-tight clothes accentuate every bump and bulge that might be better hidden under form-fitting clothes. Look for styles that skim the body and are neither too loose not too tight. A lot of women feel like loose clothes fit them like a tent, and a muumuu style dress makes you look fat; but that's not always true.

Invest in some tailored pieces. Tailored clothing is more expensive, and there's a reason for that- it's because it looks better! For example, the tucks below the bodice of the blouse are designed to give the illusion of a thinner waist, as does a streamlined blazer and a swimsuit with a tummy control panel. A gently flared skirt, shorts that hit just above the knee, and wide legged pants camouflage large thighs.

Put your best face forward. What? Isn't that supposed to be put your best foot forward? Well, yeah, sort of, but in this situation put your best face forward means to look well-groomed and presentable at all times. If your hair is well-taken care of, your skin and teeth look healthy, and you're wearing clean, matching clothes; you're two steps ahead of most of the people shopping at WalMart, and it matters. The better your overall appearance the less likely people are to notice your weight.
