5 Ways to Make Money If You Can Type Fast While at College

Idalia Benavides
Are you typing more than 60 words per minute? Well if you are and you're headed for college, print up some fliers offering your typing service for a couple of hours a day and a couple of days a week, then prepare yourself for some phone calls, emails, and a lot of cash. Yes, typing services are very big in college these days with people not having the time to sit down to type long papers. In this article I will talk about 5 ways in which you can make money if you're typing pretty fast while in college, so keep reading.

- Type up essays and research papers.
If you want to start making money from day one of class, go ahead and make fliers, hundreds of them and put them under the doors in every dorm building, and on car's windshields under a wiper blade. This is sure to bring you business immediately. The way to make a lot of money and to have many customers is to be very prompt, accurate, and to have repeat business. Let your customers know that if they refer you to someone and that someone actually pays for a service that they can get a certain percentage off of their next buy.

- Do data-entry for several companies on a weekly basis.
If there is an AppleOne in your city look for it! This is a company that hires you and then finds jobs for you daily. This sort of company can help you find places that hire for data-entry and you can do work for them a couple of times per week. That will surely look very good on a resume and you will even be able to talk about getting a job doing data-entry permanently at one of the places you're sent to. Nothing is needed to join a company like AppleOne except a vehicle, and you need to take a typing test, and fill out a whole bunch of papers. A phone number and an email is also needed for you to be reached at when they find something for you, and they will find something for you for sure.

- Start a typing service online.
If you go to freewebs.com and get a free site, you can create a form to offer a typing service instantly. You can then join PayPal and charge your customers through that. If you then go and post that you do this around the campus bulletins and maybe even print up some fliers to distribute you are sure to get customers on a daily basis. Sell this service by the page, word, or hour and you can surely count on a couple of 100 dollars a week.

- Teach a typing class.
If you think that you can have patience for an hour and a half each day for a couple of weeks, then perhaps you should think about holding a typing class. What you can do is, post up fliers offering the class around campus, get 3-5 students for 3 weeks and then have them meet you in the school's computer lab. There you can have them learn how to type the alphabet without looking, help them memorize where each letter is and which finger to use, and then you can even lead them to typing testing and typing game websites. This is a great way to make money and people are sure to want to take your class, as the above named things are what make a great typist. 30 minutes a day is all it takes. You can have about 15 students per day if you do an hour and a half.

- Type up fliers, memos, letters, or other things like that for people or businesses.
Does your school have organizations? Well of course it does, let them know that you type really fast and that you are willing to help them out with their typing needs. If they know this then they will bring memos, fliers, letters and other such things to you on a regular basis. You should charge per word in cases like this. You can also charge for printing. You don't actually have to print the things yourself, you can just go to the student computer labs at your campus and print there; you'd be charging for the going and bringing back the printouts to them basically.
