- Affiliates
If you have a website online or a blog perhaps that gets decent amount of traffic or is targeted mostly for men, you may want to consider affiliating yourself with companies like 1800Flowers. By joining an affiliate network like LinkShare you may be able to promote 1800Flowers on your website and make a commission if any of your visitors make a purchase by following a link from your site.

- Local Flower Shops
Most flower shops are the busiest during Valentine's Day each year, because of it they usually hire extra employees for a couple of days. Flower shops are looking for front desk helpers, cashiers, florists, helpers, and even people to help them with deliveries. If you have any experience, and even if you don't but you're willing to learn, try going to some shops in your area and asking if they will be hiring for the major holiday. Make sure to dress to impress, have a resume, and to speak well when you meet the person who may hire you.

If when you do meet the owner or manager of the flower shop and they say they will not be hiring for the holiday, make sure to ask if they may want to hire you to bring in orders. Many flower shops don't get many orders, or as many as they expected and they may want to pay you a percentage of the sales you bring to them. If this is allowed, make sure to discuss and get the agreement in writing before you go off making sales for them.

- Candy & Balloon Grams
Do you know of a place that gets exposure everyday at which you could possibly set up a small outdoor shop for a day or two? If you do, then consider making candy and balloon grams and selling them there for a reasonable price. You can purchase supplies before-hand at small shops that have sales going. All you will need is some cellophane wrap, ribbon, balloons, and chocolate treats. You should also have sign made to let people driving by what you're selling. You can also take orders from friends, neighbors, work colleagues, and even from people at your children's' school and deliver to them before setting up shop.

- Delivery Service
During Valentine's Day most men who have purchased something for their wives aside from flower and gift shops will need to have the gift delivered. Since they will be working, they will be in need of a delivery service. Let your neighbors know that you will be doing this during Valentine's Day and perhaps consider placing an ad in the Sunday newspaper to gain more exposure. If you get orders for this service, make sure to be prompt, courteous, and to not let down the customers that trusted you. A service like this usually runs between $5-$10 so price accordingly to the distance you will have to drive.
