Well it is possible to make some time for yourself and what follows is five of the easiest and most effective ways to do this.
1.Choose the best study option.
When you are struggling to find the time for any sort of study then it's important that you choose the right form of study for you. There are many different ways of learning that you can choose from, such as; college or university based learning, evening classes, distance learning and online learning.
Each of these types of learning has their own advantages and disadvantages. Learning based in a college, for example, will be more structured and restrictive than distance learning, which allows you to work whenever you can. By choosing the way you want to study, depending on your lifestyle and preferences, you can then arrange your time more effectively to fit in with that method of studying.
2.Write a study plan.
One of the most effective ways of finding more time for studying is to make a detailed plan or timetable. First work out exactly how and where you spend all your time at the moment. Then you can decide what you can cut out, or spend less time doing, each day. Try to make the same periods available each day if you can as it gets you into a good routine if you can study at regular times.
When you have made some gaps in your schedule then fill them in with study time.
3. Study on lunch breaks.
If you have an hour for lunch you could use some or all of that time for studying. If you are at work make sure that you have taken some of your study materials (pen, paper, notes, assignments etc.) with you so that you can make the most of your lunch break.
4.Make use of every minute.
You may often find yourself with a spare few minutes at certain times during the day which you don't know what to do with. Well you can now use those few moments for studying. There are lots of things that you can do with those periods, such as; brief research, writing notes, making a list or short study plan, doing some quick revision, contacting your tutor, etc.
By using these brief spells for minor tasks you will find that you free up more your main study period and are therefore able to use it more effectively.
5. Share the chores or cut them down.
If you do the majority, or all, of the household chores then see if you can get your partner, children or other family members to help out. That way you can get a bit more time for studying and they might even appreciate you more! If you don't have anyone to help you, then think about cutting down on the chores.
Question whether it's really essential to do the ironing as often as you do or to wash the car as frequently. The chances are that you could cut down on a lot of the chores that you do regularly and make yourself some more time.
By implementing any or all of the above techniques you should be able to make yourself that extra time you need to get studying.
