5 Ways to Get Organized If You Use a Computer at Work and at Home

Idalia Benavides
If you use the computer both at home and at work, you're probably not very organized with your computer stuff. It's completely understandable since you have a lot of information probably on two computers and you don't know which one your main one is at the end of the day. Don't worry about it, today I'm going to tell you about 5 things that you need in order to get organized and to stay organized from now on; by getting or doing these things you will surely feel better and not t0o attached to any computers that you use.

- Download Thunderbird (Email Client)
Thunderbird will help you organize your email all in one place; you will even get to see your email while offline. If you have a personal email, a work email, and maybe even a school email as well, you're probably spending a lot of time checking each one separately; well that would all end with Thunderbird. Thunderbird provides you with an interface that's really easy to navigate, the tools to add any email addresses to it (even if they're not the paid ones), an address book that you can easily add your contacts too, and the greatest thing of all that you get is the ability to take it with you in a portable storage device wherever you want.

- Download Lightning Add-On (Calendar For Email Client)
Lightning is a calendar add on that you can install on Thunderbird. This will not only help you to make Thunderbird more of an asset, but it will also make you much more productive. You will be able to have your email, your contact list, your to-do lists, and even a calendar to keep track of all your appointments and events.

- Get A Briefcase (A Folder That You Can Use To Sync Files)
A briefcase folder is really great for business people! Briefcases allow you to sync the folders and files that you have in one computer with another one; it's all done quickly and easily too. The briefcase folder can be easily obtained from your desktop by just right clicking, putting your cursor over new, and then selecting Briefcase.

- Get A Jump Drive (A portable storage USB device)
This might sound like something from the other world, but it's not! A jump drive is just a portable storage device, and it's greatly needed if you're trying to keep yourself organized between two computers or two places. You can obtain one at almost any store that carries electronics these days, and they are not that expensive. If you're going to be getting everything that's mentioned in this article, the best jump drive for you would be one that has at least 2GB of storage space.

- Download Portable Apps (Software that you can use from your Jump Drive)
Portable Apps is where you will get the software that you can take with you and use anywhere you want without having to install it; it runs straight from your jump drive. At Portable Apps you will be able to download Thunderbird, Firefox, and almost all of your favorite software for free; this will help you to be a lot more organized in the long run, as you will be able to have everything that you need with you at all times.
