Marriage is one thing that often goes down the tubes due to several reasons. We often neglect the one thing that is most important to us each day. Marriage is one of the most important things in our life that brings much happiness due to being around the one that we love the most. Here are five ways to help you put your marriage first.

Ask Your Spouse Before You Make Decisions

Your spouse may have plans for the evening that you don't know about. She or he may have made a special dinner for the both of you. You need to ask your spouse regarding most decisions since you never know if he or she already made plans like a weekend vacation. You don't want to have conflicts so it is always a good idea to ask before you make plans with someone else.

Choose Your Spouse Over Work

Nobody likes to be with someone that is a workaholic. Workaholics basically have no life whatsoever that leaves a negative affect on the marriage. Workaholics do not want to put their marriage first in life since money is more important to them.

Choose Your Spouse Over Night Out With Friends

Once you are married you should spend more time with your spouse since you are no longer single. It is okay to go out with the girls or guys every once in a while here and there. They should understand that your top priority now is dedicated to your spouse that results in not being able all your time with them.

Choose Your Spouse Over Family Fights

You should always choose your spouse whenever any family fights arise. You should take the side of your spouse regarding any negative remarks made by family members. Do not let a mother in law or your own family abuse your spouse in anyway whatsoever since that is failure to protect your spouse.

Don't Let Your Family Control Your Marriage

Do not let your family tell you how to run your household. You have own your family now that should be number one on your list. Do not let your mother or whoever get a inch into your life since he or she will take a mile eventually that will cause drama in the marriage. Anybody that getting into someone else business is never up to any good whatsoever. Some family members love to cause drama in marriages for various reasons like perhaps they liked the ex better and not you.
