5 Ways to Sail with Your Chair

Mr. Scott
Have you ever taken a folding metal chair with you during a personal cruise on a large and privately owned sailboat and discovered that you didn't really have much use for the chair, except to sit on it?

If that is the case, then maybe I can offer you 5 great suggestions on several different ways you can use your folding metal chair (besides sitting on it) while taking a personal cruise on a large and privately owned sailboat.

Suggestion #1 - Try using the folding metal chair as an emergency improvised paddle. While taking a personal cruise on a large sailboat, you never know when or where disaster will strike while you are sailing peacefully across the ocean blue.

Sailboats (even very large ones) are not completely impervious to wind, weather or other dangerous natural elements that you might suddenly encounter. Large personal sailboats always seem to give people a false sense of security whenever they choose to use them for sailing around in the open seas.

So, whenever an emergency or a disaster strikes your large sailboat, and you are forced to jump overboard with a life raft, do not forget to take with you your folding metal chair. You never know if your life raft might be missing its own emergency paddle and you have to improvise using something else for a paddle. That is where you can use your folding metal chair. Simply fold up the metal chair, turn it upside down, hold it by its legs and use the chair's back to start paddling in the water.

Suggestion #2 - Try using the folding metal chair while changing a light bulb. If your large sailboat has its own internal generating power source that is used to produce electrical power for things like light bulbs, stoves, radios and so forth that are located below the sailboat's main top deck, you can use your folding metal chair to stand on it and assist you with changing a ceiling light bulb in the sailboat's main galley below decks. It is very simple and easy to do and it works great in a pinch!

Suggestion #3 - Try using the folding metal chair for sun bathing. If you enjoy sun bathing on the top deck of your large sailboat, then try sitting in your folding metal chair, instead of lying on the deck, while soaking in some of those wonderful rays of sunshine. Just be sure to first place your beach towel over the folding metal chair before sitting on it so the chair's metal frame does not become too hot for your skin in the sun.

Suggestion #4 - Try using the folding metal chair to air-dry your wet clothing. Whenever you choose to go out into the open ocean on a large sailboat, you almost inadvertently end up getting your clothing wet at some point during the journey, either from natural ocean spray or accidentally falling overboard.

Since most large sailboats do not have a regular Maytag clothing dryer machine that is costumed installed below decks, a folding metal chair can be used as an improvised device to air-dry your wet clothing. You simply unfold the metal chair, place it on its metal legs in a sturdy location on the sailboat and then you carefully drape your articles of wet clothing on different parts of the chair. Then you wait for your clothing to air-dry naturally. What could be so much easier then that?

Suggestion #5 - Try using a folding metal chair to do your daily exercises. Whenever you are sailing around out in the open ocean in a large sailboat, you have to be in pretty good physical shape in order to handle all the different types of sails, rigging, ropes and so forth that is on the sailboat, especially if you encounter really nasty weather and very high waves that crash over the sailboat's top main deck.

To help keep both your physical muscles and your mind in fantastic shape while sailing around in your large sailboat, use a folding metal chair to assist you with your daily exercises. Simply unfold the metal chair and stand it on its legs in a sturdy location on the sailboat.

Next use both the back of the chair and the chair's seat for doing numerous push-ups, sit-ups, squats, leg thrusts, bend and lifts, crunches and so forth. All you have to do is use your imagination and you will find that a folding metal chair is the perfect companion for your daily exercises on a sailboat.

Those are my best 5 suggestions on how to use a folding metal chair on your next personal cruise aboard a large and privately owned sailboat. As you can see, with a little creative thinking, you can find more then one use for a folding metal chair then just sitting on it in a sailboat. I hope this will really help you with enjoying your next journey as an adventurous sailor.
