5 Ways to Start the New Year Off Right

Here are 5 ways to start the new year off right:

1. Watch Pathways to Peace.
2. Watch The Interview With God

It does not matter if you believe in God, Goddess or none at all, everyone, especially artists and writers, will find inspiration in these short internet films. As Thomas Fuller said: "Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it." Start the new year off right resolving to implement much of the wisdom found amidst the words and quotes in the films.

3. Watch May You Be Blessed, which was started as an internet experiment. Billed as "therapy for the soul" it is an especially nice short film to share with grieving or struggling loved ones.

4. *Watch Walk of Life by Dire Straits

Attitudes are contagious; moods spread faster than a flu bug. Resolve to be a carrier of a smile in 2008. This video is a smile spreader. Interlaced with the guys performing Walk of Life on stage are sports clips. A baseball player is casually running to home plate~obviously hit a homer~when he suddenly trips falling flat on his face on the baseline. When the guys sing "he got the action, he got the motion" you will be watching a baseball player take a mighty swing, only to swing himself around, falling to the ground landing on his butt. A basketball player is next to take a dive to "Oh yeah the boy can play". The video is not all sports bloopers, tho', there are also fans shown having a good old time in the stands.

If you watch football you already know how these macho men do victory dances, moonwalk or shake their tail feathers. If you watch baseball you have also seen coaches and managers face to face during their own private face off. When the guys sing "hand me down my walking shoes" the video pans to the barefoot guitarist. These guys are enjoying themselves and you will enjoy watching them do so. The fans and players are captured enjoying little slices of life. Let them be an inspiration to **"Celebrate life and it's lessons as they unfold."

Walk of Life ends with the lyrics: "..and after all the violence and double talk, there's just a song in all the trouble and the strife". Do "do the walk of life" as you bring in the new year.

5. Watch David Jr 4 Peace. Do not be alarmed if you see a blank white or black screen. An image will soon appear and grow before your eyes. This is an example of creative use of technology at it's finest. David Jr 4 Peace plays in a continuous loop, so you will need to use your browser's back button when you are ready to leave. Some feel 2007 saw an alarming increase of random violence in the United States. Resolve to start the new year off right by remembering the way to peace on earth begins with you. Find the song in the strife and be a carrier of joy in the coming year.

Wishing you life's best in 2008: good health, more love, much peace, endless joy and prosperity. ***At least reasonably so.

*Videos posted at You Tube come and go. Walk of Life is currently available to watch using this link.
**Quote comes from the movie, Soul Food. Renting and watching the movie might also be a way to start the new year off right.
***Quote from The Line and the Dot shown on a children's teaching television show, I no longer remember. The animation ended with the line and the dot living "if not happily ever after, at least reasonably so."
